Hacking hard disk spin-up speed

I have the usb loader boot on startup instead of the system menu but the wii starts before the drive is ready meaning that each time it starts it will say their is no drive and i have to restart the console again so that it will work (the hdd is already good to go by now)

is their anything we can do about this?

perhaps put a check into the loader to wait for the hdd to spin up?

[edit] maybe you could slow down usb loader with a boot screen, I aint sure how to wait on hdd spin up to speed

More along the lines of a button to refresh USB devices would be the best thing.. rescan for them or something.

why not rescan on a loop until they are found

A suggestion would be:

1) First, install a USB Loader WAD.
2)Second, install CrazyIntro
3)Edit the config file. Edit the entry for Up button so that when in CrazyIntro and you press Up, it'll launch USB Loader

try this mod of 1.1. it waits a little longer before assuming there is no hard drive there.
