Can someone point me towards a trusted user who can get my n3dsxl hardmodded and running again. I screwed things up trying to install a9lh and will pay a reliable source well to get things running again. Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much! And i for sure have a nand backup xD

Is there any way to restore from a hard brick without a hard mod? Itd be great if i could fix it myself

Out of curiosity, what step were you on when you bricked it?

I installed 2.1.0 U update to my emunand. When it finished it said firm_bin failed to install, but i ignored it and backed up 2.1.0 emunand and flashed it to my sysnand. Hardbrick when i tried to boot up :/

Where are you physically located? You might be able to find someone local if you say where you're at.

I live in north florida. I can handle anything other than soldering if theres something i can do

You could probably learn how to solder well enough to handle it on your own, the 3DS isn't nearly as bad as some of the previous Nintendo platforms were to work with. If you want to give it a try yourself, all you need is a cheap decent iron, some solder, and maybe a flux pen, and a few random electronics from the nearest thrift shop to practice on. Youtube has a collection of great videos on learning to solder, its not nearly as hard as it first seems. I can provide a list of the best, cheap equipment to get you started if you want, either from Amazon, or the nearest Radio Shack, if those places haven't gone entirely out of business near you yet.

Otherwise, I think @vb_encryption_vb is the only US based hard-mod installer active on the forums at the moment. If you can't get him or someone else to take this on for you, I'm sure I could probably handle doing one as well. I don't have anyone to vouch for me since I've not actually done a hardmod on a 3DS yet. But I can say with certainty that I could install one just fine. I mean, they have freakin' /pads/ to solder to... Back in the original wii drivechip days, sometimes we had to solder to factory removed chip pins. ;)

And you ignored the warning about failed checks in OTPHelper that very clearly states that it can brick your 3DS?

Yeah I cant get recovery to work, but if someone would quote me a better price than 100 dollars to fix everything than Id be willing to get them a shot to fix it. I assumed to using otp helper to fix the emunand would fix the error. its too late now, but what should i have done to fix the firm_in error?

Worst case you can get a $60 2ds but you'd have to redownload everything and lose saves. No idea how much a hardmod costs but i'd imagine it is more expensive.

Hundshamer is the recommended American hardmodder on these forums

@hundshamer was ~2-3 months backlogged last I'd heard, maybe that's not the case any longer though, it's worth asking.

@vb_encryption_vb does them for ~$60 including shipping last time I saw him offer a price on the forums, he's fairly close to OP (Acworth, GA) and iirc, he did Aurora's hard mods.
