Dual boot questions:
Hello, i have modded mine mini snes with Hackchi 2.21c. All works well.
Modded a couple of mini nes past year.(and added some Hmods for other consoles)
I ,ike to install "dantheman" dual boot to add nes mini on mine snes mini. But i have some questions:

-Does is work with the latest hakchi ?, and do i need a modded version of hackchi to add games on the nes side ?
-Can i use folders on the nes side ?
- how can i backup save games, in the case these are overwritten bij de dualboot mod

I would be verry thankfull

UPDATE 1-11-18

With no further ado, here is another amazing update for you guys and gals! Starting with the truly excellent Random Game Generator that DanTheMan827 put together! Then, we have a NEW, fuller fledged RetroArch 1.7.0. I tweaked it to be as small a size as it reasonably can, while maintaining the integrity of its Options! RetroArch Extreme is no more. The Extreme HMODS are all separate, and listed under XMB, now:) I included PNGoo Lossless Art Compressor, which is great for NON-USB-HOST! I put together an HMOD to use Custom Fonts with RetroArch, while in XMB Mode! Final Burn Alpha reverted to 12-21-17, due to some broken games. DanTheMan827's Font Remount has an Update. And, last but not least, the true awesomeness of a MAME 2003 Update, which can handle support for the truly phenomenal Sega CD Soundtrack, in conjunction with Final Fight Arcade Version! Included a ReadMe! Personal thanks to DanTheMan827, madmonkey, pcm720, soulctcher, defkorns, big blue frontend, and gpstar! for helping make this one of the absolute Best Updates I have ever had, Enjoy the Update, and have an excellent weekend, everyone!!! And, I will Update Source Files tomorrow, so they are all Current!!! And, more Cores will be Updated, too!

Here is a video showing some of the Core Updates in action, as well as a link to the needed Samples for Final Fight!

SNES Classic - Random Game Generator! - NEW RetroArch! Sega CD OST Support for MAME 2003!

And, of course, the Release!

is there someway i can just get all my added games to launch with Retroarch instead of canoe? i added a bunch games a while back but got a lot of errors on quite a few games.

there is so much info out there i can't find an easy way to do it, looks like i'd have to add the option to each title i add (which is like 50-60 games :( )

i appreciate any guidance.

To run NES games on the modded SNES classic, can you do that without retroarch? Or do I need NEStopia hmod to run NES games on SNES classic?

In the Hakchi GUI, go to Settings > Global Command Line Arguments. Type --retroarch into the field the pops up. Don't forget to have retroarch and hmods installed already ;)
Hope that helps!

I believe that Retroarch is necessary for ANY emulators that are not Canoe. But you could always try just installing the Nestopia hmod and run a couple NES games... If it doesn't load then install retroarch and enjoy!

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if Canoe itself could run NES games without any hmods.

any chance of someone coming up with an hmod that gives you the ntsc/crt wobble to give the games that old fuzziness and slight blurry-ness like the nes classic has ?

**UPDATE 1-13-18**

Install XMB Monochrome if anyone has issues running Borders in RetroArch, then select CRT in SNESC Options. I will fix for tomorrow's release. I apologize for any inconvenience.

WIP

Release Drops on 1-14-18 with some truly wonderful surprises, in addition to ability to run Videos:)

Only Xbox I don't have is the OG, and One X model specifically, I regret giving my chipped OG model to one of my kids years ago, after later hearing he sold it to pawn shop, damn kids!

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

@Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
