Is there any chance that we'll be able to add overlays like you can on RetroPi?

I assume the major issue for this at the moment would be the sheer size of the images so maybe a single general overlay rather than different ones for different games would be more suitable?

Hi,

I have this issue:

After installing hackchi2 + Retroarch + Cloverapp + extra cores, most of my NES roms (not the original ones) refuse to work and take me back to the main NES menu. Any ideas why this is happeing?

I have installed 'only' 262 roms (NES + some N64, SNES, and so on).

Yesterday, I reverted to the original kernel and then reinstalled everything again, but to no avail. The issue is still happening.

Anyone with similar issues in the past who knows how to make all NES roms work? (an example, 1942 works, but 1943 doesn't) (??)

I had something similar happen, it was when i added the mod to have a retroarch check box to open specific games, after i installed that every game i didn't have checked (the ones presumably running the stock emulator) would kick me back to the menu. i think it has something to do with the command line, i'm not sure though (any advice would be appreciated). i went through and ticked the "run with retroarch" box on every single game so that they'd work. eventually i'll flash back to the previous version and redo everything once a more stable/user friendly version (with all the options) of hakchi2 comes out

Did you check the path to the core ?
Sometimes it isn't filled automatically.

Thanks. That may be the cause, since I used the modded hackchi2 too. Maybe if I try again but with Cluster's original hackchi2 .exe this time...

The thing is I'd like to run those NES games through the default NES mini emulator, not through Retroarch. (I want to use Retroarch only for SNES, N64, Gameboy...)

Some Japanese games nes ask to go b-side, you can solve?........
With the Retro Arch ?

Yes, I am aware of that
The problem is, there's just not enough buttons on the NES controller to map Nestopia's "change disk side" function, and it looks like there no option to change sides automatically.
The default mapping is L to eject disk and R to change side disk side. You can use Wii Classic Controller (Pro) if you have one or you can change the mapping yourself in RetroArch options.

Yep without the need of the retroarch, just the stock emulator in the famicom mini. All I need to do is press a or b and it changes side automatically without retroarch.

So no one else is having sound issues with snes9x2005? Castlevania IV's sound effects are almost unrecognizable. If someone has snes9x2005 installed and has Castlevania IV, could I ask that you just go to the title screen and press start and let me know if the wolf's howl sounds really off? The music is fine, but most of the sound effects are messed up.

Thanks to all for making this this console come alive ! Any chance of implementing better Game Genie scripts that work? Also, when you input .ips files in the patches folder, they don't work as well. I downloaded a zip file containing about 300 .ips files for games, placed some of them in the patches folder, no go. I know you can manually input game genie codes, but only a handful of them work. For infinite lives in SMB, I had to patch a SMB Rom and an .ips file together ( using WinIps) to make the infinite lives work in the game.

If I press a or b gives me error c7.........................................

I managed to get Sega Master System games to run, but they are in a smaller box and also cannot be saved. Help?

Use latest retroarch build. Make sure genesis_plus_gx.hmod is in your cores to. All you have to do is load lets say alex the kidd (can be any sms game) you will notice smaller square sceen. now pres select and start together, now select settings/video/ go to aspect ratio will be set to core provided change that to any aspect ratio you like that fiils screen if there isnt 1 you like just select custom then go down to custom aspect ratio width and alter width till it fills your screen width then custom aspect ratio height and alter that till it fills your screens height (mine is set to 1280/720 full screen) then after that go back to main menu ( B button) select quick menu tap A button on both save core and save game overrides now resume your game. this has now been saved and now all master system games will be full screen or what ever aspect ratio you choose

If there still are some who are having issues getting CPS2 games running, here is a little guide that I hope helps.

Here's what I did to get it working. I'm using Marvel Vs. Capcom as example. Make sure that you have the correct rom. Apparently you need the rom specifically for FB Alpha, not the MAME one (which I had).
  1. Started with a clean install (uninstalled hakchi, flashed original kernel)
  2. downloaded clean hakchi 2.12
  3. I downloaded and installed @pcm720's retroarch mods (including both FBA modules)
  4. Added mvsc.zip (picked mvc.01 when it says to pick a file)
  5. copied the mvsc.zip rom to CLV-U-TETPG folder (yours may be different. you can see the the name of the folder at the top of the hakchi interface when you have the game selected )
  6. I deleted mvc.01 from CLV-U-TETPG folder
  7. edited the command-line arguments like so:
/bin/cps2 /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-U-TETPG/mvsc.zip (*MAKE SURE that there is a space in between the "/cps2" and "/user". I forgot that and my games wouldn't load)
  8. synced and VIOLA!
I hope this helps anyone who has been having trouble! FYI, if you include both of @pcm720 's FB modules, you can run other games such as TMNT Arcade and TMNT Turtles in Time!

this will help you . start at step 4. substitute mvsc.zip for your ROM.
instead of CPS2 you will have to use whatever is set up for mame
