Homebrew Hacking 3ds with broken buttons

So my friend has two 3ds's, one on 11.2 and one on 11.4. My goal is to hack the one on 11.2 and then install boot9strap on the one that is on 11.4 through the dsiware method. He doesn't care what happens to the one on 11.2 as long as the one on 11.4 is hacked. Problem is the one on 11.2 has most of it's buttons broken and when I hacked my 2ds, godmode9 required certain button combinations to be put in to properly hack the system.
Is it possible for me to hack the 3ds on 11.2 even though most of the buttons are broken? (start works and A if you press really hard)

Just checked in with him, d pad works and so does start,select, and home. A doesn't work at all even if you press it really hard now, the rest of the buttons are in the same state A is in.

He's better of selling his 11.2 as spare parts then use that money to get a flash cart.
