Hi everybody, just sharing my experience

I was playing phoenix wright vs professor Layton and I accidentally touched the white gayeway card with my fingers

The 3ds made a black screen and tell to push home button. (You know that screen !)

When I launch the game again, I was screwed because the GW had NOT update the .3ds file

F*** seriously.
Have to make 4 hrs again ...

Hope it will warn some people

EDIT: After IronClouds message,
I blow in the card loading on the 3DS and clean a little the White Card.
When touching again with my fingers, it's OK.
Thanks !

Sounds like you have a contact issue with your card, where the micro SD is inserted in a position where it is just enough for the contacts to be out of place when touched slightly. I had that issue with the first Gateway I was sent. What I did was called up my reseller and let them know. They had me send the card back and sent me a replacement. Haven't had a contact issue with the new card.

I've triggered this by dropping my 3ds before. I think even a normal cartridge would have been disconnected in that case though.

I think there is something strange about Gateway's "real time save" though. I lost about 3 hours of progress in Bravely Default despite autosave being on and saving progress whenever I enter the world map. Omega 2.1 doesn't write the save back to the SD card as often as advertised.

Strange, I dropped my 3DS earlier today. Was a ~2-3 foot drop onto a vinyl floor. Unaffected. I was even running a ROM at the time. Sounds like the build quality of this cart is terribly inconsistent.

there is just too many variables in play to make that statement.
like,
how snug your cart slot holds games in (not all are created equal)
what part of the console hit the ground first
how hard the material it was dropped on is
and how well your console is put together, as in how much it flexes from the impact.

The same argument can be applied to the statement I initially quoted too, though.
