I need help with this. Right here it says: You will need a network connection for this-- if not you'll have to find the wad file and put it on the root of your SD before the install.

I want to know what WAD file am I exactly looking for?

I was stupid enough to upgrade to 4.2. I've got cBoot2 booting my system to Wad Manager 1.4 but I can't for the life of me find a wad file for ISO249. I tried NUSD 1.2 but it doesn't have 249 only 254. Can somebody tell me where or how to get an ISO249.wad file?
Erm. Maybe you're looking in the wrong place? I'm looking at it right now, so I know it's there..

Like I said, I'm stupid. But I click Database > ISO and there is no 249 that I can see. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Can you describe where you can see it. When I put in the TMD of 00000001000000F9 it doesn't download a wad file.

you need to use an updated database.xml

So I can't find this anywhere either. BTW thanks OP the guide went PERFECT. Now my wii memory is full and it appears I am unable to back up wiiware and VC games on my SD? I'm sure this is a super noob question but everytime I try to copy something over it doesn't show up on the system menu and when I try to access the channels/SD it freezes.

You were right. Thanks so much. Before I asked I backed up my sd and deleted a bunch of stuff that I thought might be doing it but not that. Now its gone and I was able to move tons of shit to my SD. Thanks.

HI. I have a couple of questions before I attempt a 4.2 upgrade.

I'm currently still on 3.2E (I have a Pal Wii) which was setup using MiiWii. I have preloader 0.29 installed with the hacks file that came with MiiWii. do I need to uninstall the hacks file and/or preloader 0.29 before attempting the jump to 4.2?

the health warning screen is disabled on my wii.

I ask as I remember reading in the documentation for MiiWii that no uninstalling a hacks file for preloader could result in a brick?

Thanks in Advance
Andy.

Because of the many pages I don't want to read through, I'll just ask my question quickly:

For some reason, Bootmii only loads like 15% of the time. Most of the time, it's like not even installed. Yes, I'm sure I have the Bootmii folder. Is there anything I can do about it? Should I install the latest version? I'm on 3.3 by the way.

Edit: I read the first post again. Should I just install preloader, and hope it'll solve my problem?

what do you mean Bootmii only loads like 15% of the time?
Like 85% of the time it just freezes?

No, 85%~ish of the time it just loads the warning screen normally, like Bootmii was never installed.

Oh, and there's a small "delay" though, it seems like it's searching for Bootmii but somehow it doesn't always find it. ?

that small delay is bootmii.
it supposed to start up before your system menu.

you have bootmii installed as boot2 or IOS?

I have been reading this tutorial and the yafaze one on yafaze tutorial

I have a 4.1U virgin Wii.
Before I pull the trigger, I have couple questions:
1. In yafaze's post, the slot 249 is used to install IOS 36 and restore downgraded IOS 15. While in this post, slot 36 is used. Are these two approaches equivalent?
2. Is there a wiki page explain all IOS slots? I still don't quite get IOS and various slots. I understand the concept of IOS on wiibrew, but all these slots and their interactions trouble me.
3. USB loader. Is USB loader 1.5 CFG 44 a good choice?

Thanks alot in advance.
