I would upload the converted and formated images I have, but megaupload isn't working (my flash is borked) any other file sharing site recommendations?

Scratch that, it is actually just my machine being retarded, I cant upload anything, transfering files to another machine.

QUOTE(dimok @ Apr 18 2009, 07:05 PM) Yeah right Guitar Hero is one problem title. I dont know what to do lol. Should we take all IDs or just 3? Anyway for your porblem with images. The images need to be in 160x224 with 16m colors png for covers and 160x160 16m colors for discimages.

@vettacossx hey man your images are 160x160 256 colors and those WONT WORK! They need to be 16m Colors!!
How do I know if my images are 16m colors. The resolution is ok.
I have this info for example:

So what do you guys think is best? Having only one cover and disc image for each game (3 IDs) or stay with whole name (6 IDs) which also supports custom version of Guitar Hero?

@FvKey look right into your picture it says its 16,7m colors. 32 or 24 Bits both work i think (not sure about 32 Bit)

I've been posting in the USB LOADER COVER IMAGES thread about the possibility of auto resizing the covers to work with loaders such as yours (image dimensions multiple of four). The author of the covers website http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/ djtaz thinks this could be added quite easily and I think this would be a perfect way for you to access your covers. No packs to download, no sizes to change, just fire off a custom URL to the site with your required dimensions and it would do the rest, maybe he could even host the disc covers if you can get them together.

Currently, they use the full title ID, but I have spoken to him before about a four letter system (not three, as the covers are different between regions, especially when it comes to NTSC-J and the rest of the world). He said that if the coders would support it then it could be changed, this would stop some of the duplicates on the site. Either way, this does not affect SD usage or the end user, only the uploaders (multiple uploads for the same game due to last two digits). As far as I know, the last two digits refer to the disc pressing, perhaps the production run.

Disc covers in zips (the cc pack is all 109 covers from console covers, and the other is the covers posted earlier).

If anybody has any others, I now have a nice bash script that converts, resizes, and applies transparency automatically. I'll post it if anybody wants (but it isn't very useful without the transparency mask which would be sort of a pain to upload since I would have to transfer it to another computer)

This is a nice idea. Which i would be glad to implement. The problem right now is that the sizes of the image is 160x225 which we cant use with libwiigui. If the autoresize option will be available, i am sure we will use this. Maybe we could also provide two versions of our GUI one for SD usage and one with internet support.

Gambia, The
djtaz could create a script which requires four parameter to show a picture. gameID, cover or lable, x-size, y-size. and a url like this to get the picture: http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/downl...x=116&y=224

that would solve all the problems. autoresize doesn't have to be done by the loader and dvd-covers could be easily uploaded/downloaded as well. the only thing is that the script could cause a good amount of load on the server.

Most of the loaders that use the website (currently) download the covers to the SD card for display, so only one version is required. It would only request the image from the site if it did not exist in the covers directory on the SD card. I guess you could use it like a web browser and have it download each time (maybe with a cache feature), but I would imagine this could be slow when scrolling through a list and not very nice to the website owners bandwidth limits

The "Ultimate Loader" has a config.txt in which you can turn the download oiption on or off (I think it freezes if you don't have a net connection so maybe that was why this was added).

The author of the cover website, djtaz said he would try and get the feature implemenetd if there was a demand for it, do you think you or one of the other devs on this really promising project could post in this thread and show your support for it?

That's exactly what I was suggesting

Edit: Minus the cover or disc type.

@adam_the_1st ok i will ask the others how they like it later.

@nindim I just picked into the thread and you already posted it there

. thx we will wait for an answer.

Ok everyone for now we changed it to 3 IDs image and disc image get. We made a bunch of images for you with 3 IDs.

Here is the link:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?itjjzttadhz

These images have to be copied to sd:/images/
We dont have any rotating disc images right now. If you got some put them into sd:/images/disc/ with a 3 ID name.

The current build is here:

I don't know if this relates, but I have all my resized renamed Wii Box cover images in a public folder on my dropbox account so my friends can grab them.

https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/452133/Wii%20Bo...0Covers/R8S.png

the public link look like this ^ The name of the file varied depending on the Game. I was wonder

A: Does anyone know if these links stay the same, permanently. Or do they get up dated randomly.

B: if they don't get updated, would this be useful

(also, others could sign up for dropbox and we could share folder between account and thus updating for new game could be collabritave and we wouldnt need to rely on one site/person)

www.theotherzone.com/wii/ is regularly updated (by users) and has a lot of great features such as cover requests and moderated updates to existing images (for better quality or region issue etc). I have no vested interest in the site, but it seems like what we need is already setup. A lot of work went into it to get it to where it is, and whilst I agree about having to rely on one person.... what would happen if he went away from the "scene" or the site went down, I also think it's the best option for now.

I posted in that thread before I posted here, just to see if he was open to the idea. He said "I dont know of much demand for it yet, but yes its possible to get the images resized on the fly based on the URL ", which is why I asked you to post to let him know that there would be at least one loader that would use it.

From memory, it was more like he was asking for people to let him know if they wanted it, but reading it again, it doesn't seem like that, cut me some slack, it's late here!

Running the most recent SVN seems to be back to 6 digit naming for the cover art...

did you see the 2 zips full of images with transparency and stuff I posted like 10 posts ago? They are all set to go, they just need to be renamed.
