Updated to work with all firmwares now!

There are better ways to display text on screen now, but this program should still serve as a simple demo for people who want to get started.

I am in the process of porting some of my Wii U Homebrew to the Switch. While doing so, I found that I needed to be able to graphically display text on screen. I put the font drawing code into an easy to read hello world program, so that if people on 3.0.0 want to learn some simple programing, this may be a good start.

Link and instructions: https://github.com/vgmoose/sdl-hello-world

I can help provide support in this thread if people have issues getting this setup on their Switch/computer.

Also note that as of this time of writing, these instructions may change or become outdated as new stuff comes out. Particularly, drawing text this way isn't a great solution but it should be okay for a quick demo.

hello ! I use pegaswitch for the first time and when I type
evalfile usefulscripts/SetupNew.js
I get :
'no output'
why ?

Hey - I think you asked this in another thread too. 'no output' is normal - and you must run that or NROs won't load when you use runnro. (at least, that's what happened in my case.)

I figure the more threads we have a solution in, the better.

For posterity, I have updated this program to work with 5.x. It also now supports both libtransistor and libnx, and you should be able to compile and run it with either! The readme is updated with instructions in case anyone wants to give this a shot.

The croissant crust is still available though, but not quite as good imo.
