Pretty sure there's ScummVM for the DS and that's like point and click heaven.

Everyone says "OMG ACE ATTORNEY" but I found it just awful. The characters are stupid (just HURR HURR HURR I'M FUNNY ACTING) and the story was very mediocre. Only good part was the court battles but even those were terribly trial (no pun intended) and error.

There's Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars which a lot of people liked.

On other consoles though there's Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, and Sam and Max.

EDIT: On the DS there's also Hotel Dusk (which people apparently liked), Again (got crappy reviews though), and a few others. I'm not really a fan of the genre though, I just somehow know a few point and click games.

Touch Detective 1 and 2 1/2. Great easy going adventure with funny characters in a Jhonen Vasquez / Tim Burton like style.
I love the genre

sweet thanks guildy and neurotica im gonna try out that SCUMM thing as soon as i get on a computer thats not a mac
i swear i couldnt rename a file on this computer to save my life.

point and click adventures worth a damn on the ds:

broken sword
runaway 2,3
so blonde (has minigames but still solid adventuring)
secret files 1,2
hotel dusk:room 215
again
time hollow(adventure in the loosest term)

but yeah...scummds should keep you busy for at least a year with all those adventures....if you don't mind tracking each one down
