Has anybody found a good method for stocking ammo?

So far, there's the obvious way of gathering it from enemies. That's good during missions, but not if you need the ammo _for_ the mission.

The mail order seems very expensive, even with tens of thousands on hand. I understand it's a great way to regain confiscated weapons, but they don't sell just bulk ammo when they clearly should. Same as the grenades and cocktails.

Hijacking armaments doesn't seem very worthwhile. For all the effort it takes to track down one of those trucks, entrap it (they speed away at the first sign of trouble), lure the driver out without exploding the vehicle, gunning him down while he's firing a shotgun at you, returning to a base, and retrieving the cache, I end up with some shotgun shells. It would take forever and you have no control over what is received.

Then there's the scratch tickets. That takes almost as long as the trucks to run through a dozen free kevlars and maybe get one weapons, and again you can't control which gun.

Otherwise I'm considering just using cheats, since at least I wouldn't waste hours on this chore.

It is limited, i've just got by on those methods and buying some from the shop, seems a shame i spend $7.5k on SMG's everytime i do a decent mission or stint messing about.

Any other ways to make easy money besides selling drugs? (I can't actually make any real money from it.. also the scratch cards hate me too)

When you say, "I can't actually make any real money from it," what are we referring to exactly? I ask because I was able to make about 50k in about an hour or two of gameplay. I'm not sure what you're looking to buy, but I already own about seven or eight safe houses and have bought endless supplies from Ammunation, and still, I have over 40k spending money on me currently.

I've only put in about 20 hours with the game, so I can't say for sure, but I believe drug dealing is still the most lucrative profession in the game. All of the other side missions offer peanuts in comparison.
What I meant is that I only get like $30 profit.
Hmm I guess I'll give it some more time.

The only possible thing you can save-up some cash and ammo is to mark-up some trash cans to your favorites. I don't think some trashcans randomly respawn items inside. Like in the area in the mission "Jackin' Chan" (and where you can buy import cars) east side of it theres a nearby red building that has a red dumpster near a ramp (I think it's a unique stunt jump) but there's always a shot-gun ammo inside of it.

Besides the only weapon that has the same ammo are sub-machines, assult rifles and shotguns, even though the combat shotgun is the best weapon (in the shotgun family) yet expensive it has the same shotgun shells as the cheaper one, same goes with Micro SMG = MP4 SMG and Ak's = M14rifles. This means even though you change your weapon to a higher one, your ammo is still intact.

Anyone can verify when can we buy those damned Formula R and Rhino? I want them badly, but I don't think I'll get them soon...

The car dealer hasn't even let me buy the custom race cars

Not sure about the Formula R and Rhino, but I did unlock (some) custom race cars (GT series). Last mission I finished was for Chan (I won't tell the details of the mission, unless spoilers are allowed).

There exists spoiler tags for spoilers, it's okay to provide us with it.

Anyway, I'm up to "Myriad of Swords", how far have you played? I haven't checked the car dealer for some time even though they told me I can buy new type of cars

I just had a look at the map that came with the game and I can't believe how huge it is. After playing this for a while I have noticed some nice touches like car indicator lights being used when they are turning, people holding umbrellas when it is raining and I see police and fire doing jobs around town.

I saw an accident scene with cops and fire engines putting out a vehicle that was on fire. I find I enjoy this more than the GTA I played on the Psp so far.

This has to be one of the best games I have ever played on the DS and worth every single penny. (Anyone playing this for free should feel disgusted).

The only problem I have found so far is when you steal cars. If you jump into a stolen car just before you have to catch up to some one before you lose them in a car chase and you have to waste time hot wiring a car then you can easily fail a mission. Sometimes cops will also catch you while you are fiddling around with screws inside of a car.

You can grab a Rhino after quitting the Fast Tracks mission. You can get the location here:
http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=4949&marker=19274

Enter the tank to start the mission, press select twice to quit, then get in the tank again quickly.

Do the lion missions require wifi?
Lions appear when you finish the story mode, but you need Wi-Fi to get 2 missions after you found them.
