Does anyone out there have a Grand Central invite code? If so, could you PM me so I can give you my email address for an invite? In return, I will call your Grand Central number at any one time in the future and pretend to be anyone you'd like (except for a 1-900 phone sex operator.)

Thanks!!!

lemme know if you still need one....
I think I have all of my invites still free, I don't really use mine, I had one person call me with it and it's kind of annoying. But eh, should get better with time. PM if you want one...

what is grand central?

Was wondering the same thing. Good thing I have this, and this.

Still, here:

GrandCentral is a Google owned internet service that uses VoIP to link a customer's phone numbers together. Currently the service is in private beta and is accessible by invitation only; invitations can be obtained from existing members. Customers can create an account on the service's website and choose a central phone number. During the private beta the service is free, before the Google acquisition there were plans to launch a $15 a month premium service (no advertisements, more outgoing calls, more voicemail storage, and up to six unified numbers).[1]

Whenever the customer's GrandCentral number is called, the phone or phones of the customer's choosing ring allowing the customer to answer the phone of their choosing. The phones can be choosen based on time of day, the home phone can be turned off during business hours, and based on groups (Family, Friends, Work, Web Button, Others) or personlized based on an address book.

The site also offers centralized voicemail, which can be checked from the website or through a phone, as well as numerous other services, including call screening and name-based caller ID from a customer's contact list, blocking of numbers (including automatic blocking of telemarketer numbers in their database), call recording, ability to forward calls to Gizmo Project SIP number, the ability to switch lines during a call, and different voicemail greetings based on the caller. The service currently only has numbers available in the U.S.A.

The service was founded in 2005 by Craig Walker and Vincent Paquet and was purchased by Google on July 2, 2007.

I don't think it's really voip, you dont make calls using this service. From what I understood and seems to be, is that they give you a phone number for life. So basically, if you move, get a new number, you just change the direction of the phone number to your new actual number. So basically the number grandcentral gives you is a redirection service. So if my move to a different county and get a new number, this number from grandcentral can still work if I've been giving it out...

The only thing I dont like is when someone uses the grandcentral number, if I dont answer, they leave a message with grand central, not with my cell phone. Which is a pain in the ass for me since Im on dialup...

By the way, sent out three invites, cruddybuddy, please PM ME YOUR EMAIL!!
