Even though it seems highly unlikely that he'd commit suicide, I thought it too after I've read this statement on his blog today:

Fuckers shouldn't have took away OtherOS in the first place.

Personally, I'm more peeved that the "fuckers" took away PS2 compatibility. Don't get me wrong though; OtherOS should be restored at once.

Had they kept PS2 compatibility this whole time, the console right now would be priced higher because of keeping the actual PS2 hardware it ran on.

I don't care. In my opinion, the current PS3 is an incomplete product without it, let alone getting rid of OtherOS. I'd also like to hear some of Schlupi's argument regarding backwards compatibility.

I agree; Backwards compatibility would've made the PS3 so much better. Taking it away was a big mistake.

Depends on what you mean by challenge. He said that if Sony was going to come after him, he would release all of his stuff to the internet first. Which he did.

But Sony really does need to stop. I get wanting to protect your console, sure. But he's not trying to do harm to the company, he's trying to bring OtherOS back. Also, constantly raiding him? Really?
