Gaming gPSP question about Onimusha Tactics

I've tried to play this game for a couple days now, both zipped and unzipped, and I even got a different dump of it - I've tried the M7 dump and the #GBA dump, no matter how I try, when I select the rom it just kills gPSP.

Is it incompatible or are they just bad dumps?

have you got custom firmware? if you don't thats why it dosent work

I wouldn't be able to start gPSP if I didn't have CFW.

I would assume it's a bad dump. gPSP has played everything I've thrown at it with absolutely no problems.
