Nintendo's Online service launched last week for Switch, and we would like to know how many of you have signed up!

I got it to play Splatoon. It's only "6$" per year.

I do have to agree it's a POS service and big N should be ashamed of releasing it like this, but a man gotta splat.

I mean the infrastructure is there, it is just that its use is horrible. I'd actually use Switch Voice Chat if, u know, I could actually use it in the games I play.

No, only possible by homebrew so far. (EdiZon or Checkpoint)

Nintendo only provides you cloud saves, and even that you need to pay for.

At first they (Ninty) deleted saves the moment your subscription expires but they got enough backlash that they're keeping your cloud saves for up to 180 days.

No.. They didn't instantly delete anything. Just some misinformation.

The app is agreeably horrible but even then I would still use it because: 1) I'm paying for it 2) I can chat with anyone in the match

Huh, there was some backlash regarding that, what did they actually do to cloud saves pre-backlash?

Changed my vote since I recently got the family plan. My cousin had his birthday and got Splatoon 2 and my brother just picked up a Switch as well so it seemed like a good time to buy it.

One of my kid’s friends couldn’t get online becuase his Dad is spooked by purchasing online so sold one of our family plan slots to him for $5.

Some people amaze me. Between PayPal and just reading your credit card statement for fraud there is really no risk purchasing online. Sure over the years a couple of fraudulent hacks have occurred but the issuing bank always takes care of it and takes maybe 10 minutes of my time.

I have a launch Switch. I was holding out for the promised "online service" before I even bothered looking into the hacking scene. As soon as I saw (after waiting for so long) what they were offering as some half baked online "service" I went straight online to order a Jig + SD Card and I have been using my Switch more than at any other point in my ownership thanks to CFW. Funny thing is there was NO reason why Nintendo couldn't deliver on this console on the "services" front...
