What do you mean by "type of hd"? If High Definition, it is 720p (HD Ready).
720p/1080i = HD Ready
1080p = Full HD

if so, then thats a dam good tv, but then again, the company/make matters too, and also, the size is pretty small, depending on how far ur gonna sit from it

This doesn't run a native HD resolution. 720p will look a bit stretched and 1080p will look slightly squished.

Sounds like a monitor. HDTVs usually are 720p or 1080p. A widescreen monitor sometimes have 1050p.

Yeah, this does sound like a monitor, but the lack of VGA/DVI makes it seem like a TV. It's got a 16:10 aspect ratio, and most HDTVs come with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Like someone else said, 720p is going to seem a little stretched like this. However, it's perfect for the XBOX 360, which supports 1680x1050 natively.

Anyway, while I may sound paranoid, my experiences with Alba products aren't the best. I'd personally take out some kind of insurance as soon as possible, before it breaks.

Also, did you get this as a gift or something? I mean, it seems a bit weird that you'd buy a new TV if you don't know anything about it

Maybe it's just me being a nerd, but I thoroughly check everything about the TV before I buy it.

monitors don't usually come with integrated freeview! (free digital tv in the uk)

read the manual it should tell you in it or where you got it from ask them

yeah i got it as a gift from someone so i could play my xbox 360 on but that got the ring of death the day before i got this TV
