Sorry, buds, I enjoy my sovreignty. Our economy is shit, but the UK's is a fucking disaster and a half.

In his own words, he wants a New World Order. But I made up the "conspiracy theory"? Try harder, buds.

Gordon Brown is an utter piece of shit.

PS: I'm not left or right wing. I don't play that game. Then again, I'm not fucking stupid, either.

Typical American paranoia. Your media has pretty much brainwashed you guys to hear a word or phrase and immediately associate it with whatever "OMG EVIL SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM" idealogy happens to be the least popular of the day. He seems to be talking about globalization/etc. in that speech, and how it influences the way a country needs to react in the international community. I hear nothing about any kind of "planetary government", or endorsement of the idea. I've never heard any mainstream politician talking about such a thing. It's such an unrealistic concept at this point in history, there'd be little sense to discussing it. The UK doesn't necessarily have the same inane "buzzwords" that America's media has popularised. "New World Order" doesn't mean the same thing to Brown, or the general UK public, that it might mean to you.

Good for you, if you enjoy your sovereignty (I'd argue that you merely enjoy the idea of it, though, moreso than any true benefit it has in your daily life). That has nothing to do with anything he was discussing, though. The US wouldn't be able to get by alone any more than any other country, in the global economy. If you guys did become isolationist, you'd probably just devour yourselves from within with paranoid groups like the Tea Party who don't even trust your own government.

Um, it's clear that you have no clear what you're talking about, Junior. Our media has been cheering for socialism for years.

It seems you're the only paranoid one that is afraid of true capitalism. I love capitalism. I love my sovereignty. There's a reason Europe is a catastrophic failure at this point. You play with socialism and you get burned. We're heading there.

If you say "New World Order", "One World Government", or "Globalization" to an extreme extent, you're an enemy to American sovreignty. I don't care if it's some vast global conspiracy of elites wanting total control or not. I enjoy my sovereignty. And if you want a shitty socialized system, then have it. Enjoy your own demise.

iamthemilkman, I hereby declare you the new pliskron! Let the never ending debates...COMMENCE!!!

Besides, nobody is preaching a "New World Order" to an extreme extent, Brown was talking about the restructuring of the financial, business and industry secotrs to cope with our changing times (from what I gleaned)

And that's the problem. The UK needs to dig itself out of its own hole. There's no need to "restructure". You have to learn how to run your system more efficiently and stop corruption before it starts. Sadly however, the governments of the world have been champions of corruption and show no interest in stopping it dead in its tracks. Like I said, enjoy your own demise.

PS: I'm about to blow your mind, but I'm against war and the neocon agenda. This isn't just about social democrats (ie: socialists). They both cater to the extremes.

And yes, the Tea Party is a joke. How can you bring back constitutional values when you have neocon loons like Palin speaking at every event?

He's not talking about Britain. He's talking about the world. The Banking Crisis started in America! The threat of Climate Change affects the world! If we in the world don't work together, don't figure out a unified solution, don't act we're just going to build another financial bubble that will collapse and destroy the planet we stand on, ruining ourselves. No matter how you look at it Global Warming is a possibility and if we don't act and work towards a "Green Economy" then the consequences of not acting and it being world are far worse than not acting and it being real.

Yes, he's talking about the world, hence his want for a "New World Order".

It's a fact that the UK is in an even bigger economic emergency.

And "climate change"? Oh boy, don't even go there.

"Green economy"? Talk about conspiracy theories. You're one of them.

You bought it all hook, line and sinker.

If you're going to call people "junior", in a (pathetic) attempt to diminish their views, you can piss off right now. At least learn how to spell "sovereignty", if you're going to do that.

Pure capitalism fails as much as pure socialism (or any other "pure", uncompromising ideology)... although technically socialism (depending on the extent) is merely a method for managing an otherwise capitalistic economy. You want it, though? Fine, let's remove all the roads, highways, sewers, streetlights along with USPS and every other government-run or funded service. Hell, why not do away with government entirely? With no taxes to pay, a few people might have a chance of paying for all the infrastructure that would dissapear overnight. If you honestly believe that businesses, entirely free of regulation, are well-suited to run the world, I'd love to see the way you'd deal with actually living in such a place. Why is it so many Americans are unwilling to trust their own (elected) government, but don't think twice about trusting corporations that answer to nobody?

Media buzzwords; nothing more. And nothing more than a pathetic conspiracy theory dreamed up by fringe lunatics. Learn what socialism means before you criticize it. You clearly think it equals communism, or some bullshit like that. Canada is still a capitalistic country; we just have more socialistic policies in place in certain areas. Our banking system weathered the recent chaos better than America's did, and we didn't need the massive bailouts the American government had to hand out; in part due to our Government's greater regulation.

So people can't even talk about Earth as a whole, without being an enemy to American sovereignty? Wow, that's got to be one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard. Guess what? Earth is is a single planet, and even with a bunch of different governments, the nature of our technology has managed to merge many of their economies into a greater whole. No country (not even America) can get by on its own, anymore.

Good to know your viewpoint, though, so I can now disregard your fringe stance entirely and go about the rest of my day without debating the points with you.

I think you have gotten your opinion across now iamthemilkman, I know where you are coming from and I have similar opinions about some of the things you have said believe it or not.

But you are pretty much trolling this thread now and derailing it. Please give it a rest thanks, and let others express their views without jumping on them.

Politics and such get me in a rage. I apologize. I was a bit of a "dick", but yeah, I think some other folks were acting much the same way. I won't name names, however.

Rather sickening to see that horrible snake of a man in power, but at least I cant see anything but miserable failure in his future.

What do you expect from a man who leads a party who once had the slogan "If you want a n**** for a neighbour, vote Liberal or Labour".

Don't forget Chruchills slogan "Keep Britain White". It's why the BNP took a shine to him recently. It wasn't just the "Greatest PM" title, he actually had that viewpoint in common with them. He didn't want to open the doors to immigrants, he just had no choice cos of the lack of workforce due to the war.

*snipped out lots of very intelligent and very well put information.

I totally agree with everything you're saying there. What every country needs is a good balanced out mix of both capitalist and socialist ideas. The problem with either is when it goes to the extreme. Thank you for actually understanding what socialism is and not just being someone who hears Fox News say "Socialism is teh evil, be afraid"! Top respect to you mate. Most people can't see it for what it really stands for or empowers the people with.
