Thanks for the input everyone! Sorry I haven't had the time to reply to people individually, especially in the private-message department. I've been working steadily on a new version of the mod pack, but I've been super busy with work and starting my own side business. Rest-assured, things are progressing on the modding front. There's a bit of change in approach to how things are gonna be done, and limitations have been discovered which means I can't just throw in as many alt costumes, stages, and music as I want... This will mean some minor exceptions to my original "don't remove anything" methodology. I will still keep move sets and balance vanilla, but I might be removing/changing some of the original costumes, songs, and stages to provide the best experience possible. Details below:
Here's an idea of what to expect once the mod pack is released...
Even more awesome music!
All stages have maxed out custom music, if possible. Some stages, like Mario Maker, will have some of the less-popular songs replaced. I will try my best to keep as much of the original music intact, in order to avoid instances of "WHY DID GOOGIE REPLACE MY FAVORITE SONG! I HATE THIS MODPACK!"
New costumes approach:
The focus for these will be on adding more
quality alt colors, as well with 1-2 actual new "costumes" (like Awakening Roy or Little the Hedgemac). Some character with shitty alts, like Sonic and Cloud, will receive replacements for their original ones. Some characters, like Ryu, will receive replacements for their alts from other fighting games, if they exist.
Example:
Little Mac's costumes:
- 1-8 - Original alts
- 7-16 - Hoodie alts pack by Vanrose
- 17 - Little the Hedgemac
My approach is similiar to what you see in game like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Unfortunately, this will mean less "fun" character mods, like Waluigi over Falcon, but the trade-off is more stability, less glitches, and a more "competitive/tournament-friendly" build.
Stages:
Due to advancements in model imports and stage additions, there may be a chance that you'll see new, additional custom stages. I can't make any promises, but so far things look promising. Depending on feedback, there may be a small possibility that 1-2 of the less-popular stages a replaced by a new modded stage. That depends on the feedback from you guys though.
