K, so I have the bgm folder with all the songs, and the config you've provided in the link. What else do I need? Sorry for all the questions, I know nothing about music and nus3banks n' stuff
You shouldn't need anything else. Copy the bgm folder to the appropriate spot, and put that config I gave you next to your smashmod.xml config file. In SmashExplorer, use the SmashMusic plugin. You'll need to "load" the config, then compile the music database modifications. Then close SmashMusic and compile the mod, put the compiled mod on your SD card, and you should be all set.

Thanks for the input everyone! Sorry I haven't had the time to reply to people individually, especially in the private-message department. I've been working steadily on a new version of the mod pack, but I've been super busy with work and starting my own side business. Rest-assured, things are progressing on the modding front. There's a bit of change in approach to how things are gonna be done, and limitations have been discovered which means I can't just throw in as many alt costumes, stages, and music as I want... This will mean some minor exceptions to my original "don't remove anything" methodology. I will still keep move sets and balance vanilla, but I might be removing/changing some of the original costumes, songs, and stages to provide the best experience possible. Details below:

Here's an idea of what to expect once the mod pack is released...

Even more awesome music!
All stages have maxed out custom music, if possible. Some stages, like Mario Maker, will have some of the less-popular songs replaced. I will try my best to keep as much of the original music intact, in order to avoid instances of "WHY DID GOOGIE REPLACE MY FAVORITE SONG! I HATE THIS MODPACK!"

New costumes approach:
The focus for these will be on adding more quality alt colors, as well with 1-2 actual new "costumes" (like Awakening Roy or Little the Hedgemac). Some character with shitty alts, like Sonic and Cloud, will receive replacements for their original ones. Some characters, like Ryu, will receive replacements for their alts from other fighting games, if they exist.

Example:

Little Mac's costumes:
  • 1-8 - Original alts
  • 7-16 - Hoodie alts pack by Vanrose
  • 17 - Little the Hedgemac
My approach is similiar to what you see in game like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Unfortunately, this will mean less "fun" character mods, like Waluigi over Falcon, but the trade-off is more stability, less glitches, and a more "competitive/tournament-friendly" build.

Stages:
Due to advancements in model imports and stage additions, there may be a chance that you'll see new, additional custom stages. I can't make any promises, but so far things look promising. Depending on feedback, there may be a small possibility that 1-2 of the less-popular stages a replaced by a new modded stage. That depends on the feedback from you guys though.

I'd enjoy there being a version without custom stages along with a version with them.

I'm happy to hear that you're adding less silly character mods like waluigi, because I'm more of a fan of alternate costumes of the character.

Id think it'll be a very good addition to add more old sound files to characters, such as Brawl Sonic, Melee Fox if you havent, and if you add the Wolf vertex/skin, Wolf Brawl Voice.

This is a consideration, though ideally I'd keep ALL the old stages and all the new ones would be extra slots. At least, that's what I'm trying to go for.

As for costumes, I'm in the same boat. It's hard to balance which characters are worth "modding in" while too many alts that are different colors can be confusing/overwhelming, especially when you throw casuals into the mix. "Does Waluigi have different moves?" ... no, he doesn't otherwise he'd have his own slot... (literally any time I have people over to play Sm4sh)

Some characters will have different sound packs based of their costumes. I'll be tight-lipped on details for this until I know I've got things working though.

You can not do something like when you press a button this selects another version of the stage? Just like the Boxing ring Stage, what when you hold ZL it gets the Smash Bros. Version.

Each stage has it's own ID. So you still if you want an additional stage you still need to add an ID to the rpx. The way that is done is the ID for that type of alt is being loaded uisng a certain param in the io_stage_db. Every stage can have an alt like this but you still need an ID for it to load a new one. You can use unused satges but that's limited and i would really love to see a rpx hack of it.

Alright. Did you see my Costume list I also posted too?

I'm curious, how did you make the music-only modpack? Seems like it'd be a huge pain to remove all the other mods in Sm4sh Explorer just to get music-only...

You can always just simply make a new sm4sh explorer folder, copy the music config file and export it into that and then build the mod and put the songs in the game.

Music has it's own folder, and luckily the config files for custom music can be easily re-generated by copying out the sm4shmusicconfig.xml and putting it in a clean build.

It's not too hard, it's just a matter of keeping all your workspaces clean and organized.

alright guys, i got this mod to work.
its amazing, i have a question , do i have to run SD cafiine every time i want to have access to this mod?

and also, when i go online with this mod and select the colors that others dont have, will they see it?
i would hope not, cause they could report you i guess.

edit: one more thing, could someone please give me the directory of the SSB4 dump, i am using the Disc to play it, and i want to add a few of those thicc mods but i need the directory of the folders to know where to place the mods.
many thanks in advance!

final edit: guys wth am i seeing XD i have the DLC characters but not all of them, but now i have all the DLC characters showing up , i originaly have bought only Cloud/Lucas/Bayonetta and Roy.
