yeah i have been wondering about this too.

MY GRANDPARENTS had a program you could hook up to a keyboard and play notes, and the computer would actually copy what you played. and you could write sheet music, and the keyboard would play it. Is there anything like this anywhere?

I really don't know what it was called.

the Korg Legacy VST collection would be the obvious choice, though you will also need a program to host teh VSTs..i reccomend Ableton Live 8 for this...FL Studio is a good choice also, though Ableton is the more professional software...

I haven't really tried anything else, but fruity loops is not too hard to use, and has about infinite options [IMG]
But I'm still pretty much a beginner, I hazn't maded good stuffs. (yet? [IMG])

VST are like virtual Instruments/Plugins that you add to a Music Production program like Ableton Live 8. They will not work on there own you need the Host Program.
