Hey there, another newbie post
smile.gif

What are some good apps for the DS?
I've seen BEup, which is an MSN messenger app for the DS.
Anything else out/coming out that might be nifty?

I'm really deciding on whether or not to get a DS, and if it is as expansive as it seems - im there.

* DS Doom: Doom emulator for DS
* DS Organize: sort of PDA tool with all sort of features (a must!)
* Moonshell: MP3 and video player (a must too!)
* NDS Mail: a nice email application, supports RSS streams too
* NESDS: NES emulator
* PicoDrive DS: Sega MegaDrive emulator
* ScummVM DS: LucasArt PC Games emulator
* SNEmulDS: SNES emulator
* Snezzi DS: another SNES emulator

This is my list and there are a lot more out there!

that is a damn fine list of apps and I need to look into it some more when I get a DS lite. Which flash cart would you recommend for someone wanting those apps? I'm not really interested in the mp3/video function unless it's good and it can hold a lot of songs/high video quality.

But those emulators and ds organize and the msn app would be totally awesome. So, any recommendations?

how's earthbound and actraiser? Is there any list somewhere? If I got just one of those two I'm happy as a frog! But I'd rather have earthbound, since I've only played it on pc, living in PAL-land and all :(

Yah snezzi ds is quite compatible and the speed is damn fine, has audio too. I think it was based around the SNES Advance SNESDS setup that came from old loopy/flubba from the GBA hardware. Optimized to hell and back, ran like a champ. Hell if some GBA hardware could run SNES games with asm hacks w/no audio at full speed or near, DS has no excuse not to.
