Theres the G2...or Desire Z as its called elsewhere .....Its a pretty nice phone (a bit expensive though)
Last time i checked its the best at overclocking...clocking in at a max of 1.8Ghz....Full keyboard...
Its heavier then most phones but the build quality is great....doesn't feel plastic like some of the samsung galaxy phones...

i can tell u my fascinate (verizon galaxy S) has some crappy plastic on the back but i use a cover anyway so it doesn't bug me that much, all i can say is if you want a phone right now go for the atrix, the optimus 2x, or just wait for some of the other good phones that are coming around the corner

and i heard the g2's keyboard moving (non-sliding) mechanism isn't very solid

i'd say the htc desire hd tho its kinda old but one of the best smart phones that is still out there.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S. After I installed a custom rom on there it blew my mind.

Ridiculously quick, no lockups and has also increased battery life drastically. It also runs the newest android games with ease. E.g. Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.

TBH it does feel a bit plasticky but you get used to it. I freaked out cos I went from a HTC HD2 which has a metal back to the Galaxy S which is mostly plastic.

Speaking of the HD2. You should maybe even consider grabbing one of those, hacking and putting on Android from NAND. It is also fantastic phone, especially if it's running on Android.

Decisions, decisions lol.

It doesn't feel solid at first but trust me it is....I've had mine since launch and I'm pretty rough on the slider(Im going to just call it that for simplicity sake) yet its managed to hold up for me....

im still of the opinion to wait for a new dual core phone, if you're going to get a phone for longer than a year you're going to want hardware that is ready to be taken advantage of (not really much dual-core support in android yet)

i have the htc inspire 4g through att and my girlfriend has the evo through sprint, and we love our phones, although i still miss my iphone 4.

but those are 2 good droid phones imho
