I have a psp 1000 with CFW 6.20 PRO B5 and am using GPSP 4-29-10 gba emulator. ALl my gba backups load fine but the mode 7 gba release 171. it crashes my PSP it doesn't even start. Is there a fixed version of Golden Sun or is this a known problem>

Unfortunately, no. Golden Sun (and 2 TLA) are such heavy games no GBA emulator on the PSP can run them properly.

If it's crashing, just download form a different place, or back it up yourself. Otherwise once you get it working you'll still be disappointed from random crashes and severe lag (with sound off it runs smooth, but it still crashes at specific battles and when you recruit some Djinn. Honestly? Why would you play THIS game without sound though lol

Just get an EZ Flash IV and... well, play it on real hardware.

Golden sun works flawlessly on the PSP. You just have to know what you're doing. I'm sorry op, I don't know which revision of the emu I'm using, or what version of the rom.

I'm pretty sure it's still got horrid battle lag, even with frameskip. I haven't come across a version of gpSP that has ever fully played the game perfectly with little to no frameskip.

Nope, do I have to make a battle vid?

Ok, like I said though, you will DEFINTELY get crashes at specific Djinn (I played through with the lag and had to load the save up on an emulator every other one I would find).

It's not even worth it if he has it on GBA.

Thanks for the info, though, good to see that it can run decent.

Now 2, on the otherhand... that's a different story.

Vid recorded, prepping it to be uploaded to youtube now. Also, I don't know the rev of the emulator (like I said previously, you obviously didn't read the entire post).

Schlupi, I wouldn't know about crashes, I don't play Golden Sun games (not my cup of tea).

I can post the emulator though.

please do post the emu(it may help with the crash i always get after stage 1 of m v. dk

I used to play Golden Sun on gpsp, and it ran smoothly except for at the world map, where it lagged like hell. And it also randomly crashed when I encountered a water Djinni at some tower in the northern region. So yeah, there are still some slight problems. I raged and switched to Visual Boy Advance on the PC and it ran perfectly.

Yeah. That is the first one that the freeze happens in. And trust me, it's not the last...

Ok, to be fair, it runs playable, but for a game like Golden Sun with all that detail and shit on the sprites that lag (yes it's lagging) makes it atrocious to players who have played it fullspeed on real hardware.

Also... still, Djinn freezes. It would be playable if those didn't happen.

It runs fine in so far as it was a GBA game and will load in the emulator...unfortunately GPSP never got far enough to support the Camelot games.

All I have for Golden Sun are my saves from beating it on the hardware, and it looks completely playable if I start the game from there. But I know better than to say it's playable because it's not. Mario Golf would look pretty good from a video too, but playing it is a different story and one would have to be willing to put up with a lot of stuttering to do it.

So you're not convincing anybody here. Find something else to do.

mmm, how about you take your trolling elsewhere?

To be fair, you haven't disproved much except that the game works. The battles move slow, and I'm sure the djinni freezes are present too. Owning the games and having beat both of them multiple times, I can tell you, that battle is lagging like a bitch.

Maybe in later gpSP builds, the games will work fine, but as it stands, it isn't looking like there is going to be a new update any time soon anyways.
