Hacking Going from ".nds.sav" to ".sav" saves

I'm gonna need to use my AceKard 2.1 saves, which use the ".nds.sav" suffix on a DSTT flashcard, which uses the ".sav" suffix if I know correctly.
Should I just remove the ".nds" part in each save so that it has the ".sav" suffix, or will the DSTT card recognize them as they are?
I don't have the DSTT card yet, hence the question.

Yes, just remove the nds portion and rename the file .sav

It has worked for me.

By the way, the custom 1.5 and 1.5.1 firmware does not save in .nds.sav anymore. It saves as .sav

Use the custom firmware - no reason to use official anymore

I know about it. By the way it has both Acekard 2 and DSTT saves in the same selectable option which means they should be perfectly compatible (?)

DSTT/Acekard 2 = same type of sav...

Just change the type if it is necessary

AK2 = nameofgame.nds.sav (old old old file, now, all is ".sav")
DSTT = nameofgame.sav

the question Acekard Saves works on DSTT? answer.. YES

why? cause DSTT uses RAW savefile to store on your SD card so it can work to any cart.. same case with acekard. it also uses RAW savefile...

so renaming will just fix your problem..

you old file name on you save file
>> yourgame.nds.sav
will be like this on DSTT to be use
>> yourgame.sav

If he doesn't have the necessary equipment to test it then how is he supposed to do it?

*UPDATE*
Kingdom Hearts problem.

OK I now have a DSTT card so I proceeded as advised, and renamed all my saves from ".nds.sav" to ".sav".
All games seem to be working okay, EXCEPT for Kingdom Hearts 368-2 days which does this:
The game loads, I choose "CONTINUE" in the menu, my save appears, I choose it, the game asks again if I want to load that save, I confirm and then "DAY 99" appears and ... nothing. Black screen, and the game seems to be doing nothing. Which is weird, as all other saves work.
Anyone ever experienced this, or have any advice how to resolve it?

Could it perhaps be an anti-piracy lockout? If it is, you might have to update the DSTT OS to the unofficial one, 1.17a12, which you can find here in these forums.

Assuming you may have already done that without success, you can try finding a patch which fixes the ROM-file.

If all else fails, you could try converting the .sav with the shunyweb converter ArKRaveN linked to, using the .nds.sav-file from your AK.

Other than that, I'm stumped; I've never had problems with my DSTT, but best of luck to you! Get that game working now!

Yep, the problem you're having with Kingdom Hearts is the copy protection in it. If you search around you'll find details on how to crack it using a hex editor. You just need to change a couple of bytes in the file.
