I recently bought a N3DS, and it's at version 9.0.0-20U. I've ordered a Sky3DS, but it hasn't gotten here yet. I've already gotten bored of the default pre-installed stuff on it, and would like to go online. However, since I plan on setting up an emunand, homebrew when it's available, and all that, I don't plan on updating anytime soon.

I don't want to use the eShop, just normal internet use, watch some videos, etc. However, I don't want to have to constantly deal with the update nag screens forever, so I never set up online access for it at all.

Is there a way to set up online access on my home WiFi, without getting it to always complain that I need to update it?

Don't ever let it go to sleep mode with wifi enabled. Nintendo zones can connect to it and download an update so don't leave the house with wifi enabled.

There is a thread in the tutorials section on setting up a proxy and another I think on blocking the update servers in your router.

Get the Gateway Launcher and make a Nand backup RIGHT NOW. if you have that a hardware mod can get you back to an exploitable FW.

And what Oishikatta said. :)

Like I said, my Sky3DS hasn't gotten here yet. I need it to set up a copy of Cubic Ninja and Ninjhax, which I need to activate the Gateway Launcher and make the backup. I already know to do that, I just can't do it yet.
