ROM Hack Ghost Trick

I've found and extracted the file "cpack_2d.bin", which is the largest file in the ROM and, since the file right below it is "cpack_3d.bin", must be where all the portraits are kept. But I don't know how to open it up. I'm really just after a certain cat, so any help will be appreciated - even if you can just tell me the name of the program that'd do the job.

 

[Sausage Head]

You can open the ROM in DeSmuMe, create a screenshot of the portrait selected, cut it out in paint and (optional) make it transparent with The GIMP. It's how I ripped Sausage Head for my avatar.
I don't know about the cpack_2d.bin though.
