Ever since I was really young I played zombie games, specifically Resident Evil, and that same night I would get literally no sleep. This carried over for years and at one day I played Dead Rising for a whole day and lost sleep (and sanity) for a whole 3 months (this was in 2006). So about a year ago I tried playing a zombie game (2 actually, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles and Umbrella Chronicles) and while I had a crapload of fun it had very adverse effects on my psyche and I couldn't sleep for about another month. Now, if I see anything zombie related I get this terrifying feeling at night (despite the fact that I know they're not real).

So, can you guys think of any way I can get over this ridiculous phobia?

Not playing zombie games?
Not watching zombie movies?
Not going to places where there are zombies?
I don't think there's much stuff related to zombies out there, unless you look specifically for that. I don't see much zombie stuff when I go out. It'll probably pass eventually.

That seems to be a very weird phobia.

You could try maybe playing zombie games, little by little until you start to feel more comfortable with them. I use to have a phobia of dogs once after I watched this one show where a dog clawed a little girls face. But then after being with dogs, I wasn't really scared of them anymore.

Play Dead Rising 2. It's fantastic. Or minecraft, you'll love them just because they aren't creepers.

I can't think of any way to get over it but to face it but it'd seem given your experiences that it doesn't help.

Maybe go see a psychologist?

You could always remind yourself that zombies aren't actually real. Well, except the "Happy Shopper" kind!

Yeah, you're gonna have to face it. Do it little by little.
Look at some cartoonish zombies, then go on to the more realistic ones.
Play some PvZ then go up to COD:Zombies.

You don't really get over a phobia if you never confront it; you just have no reason to be frightened.
