Hacking Getting brew on my ds lite.

Hi guys.. been searching the forum... i must be blind.
Need some info on possible ways to brew enable my device.

First I thought you either spilled tea, beer or wanted to actually use the DS as a brewing controller... enough of that though.

"Buy a flash cart" is the main avenue here, as it is a DS lite you can buy pretty much whatever you like and as the DS has all but ended you do not need to worry about future commercial game compatibility so much.

The other methods are not really worth the hassle on even a later model DS let alone a DS lite and most homebrew will want a flash cart anyway to read data from, write it to it and other such things anyway so go with a flash cart and a basic but highly functional DS one is not really all that expensive either.

tl;dr There is no softmod, buy a cart that can launch any software.
Recommended are the R4i Gold 3DS and the Supercard DSTwo.

any way to hard mod.. with lets say a soldering iron and some components?

The DS Lite has no internal storage, and the only external methods are the DS and GBA slot.

So even if you do something like mod the internal system to load software, you'll still need a way to actually store and run that software.

Flash carts are adapters for MicroSDs and software that manages the loading of software.

So... use a flash cart.
