1.3 config disc wont work on 1.9g wiikey so how do i check region override?

im going to try a regionfrii/brick blocked single layer disc to boot ot menu then try the dual layer swap.

i'm very woprried though since i don't see anyone else posting about 'unauthorized device' with wiikey

If I have region override turned "ON" on my wiikey-enabled Wii with 1.9g and 3.1U which has played the SL version of SSBB, will I be able to update without using regionfrii and brickblocker? Or do I still need them?

I have firmware 3.0U and I can´t connect on the Internet.

Can I play the DVD5 version? and what about the DVD9?

I already have the SL one, but I´m afraid of bricking the Wii...

You will brick/semi-brick your Wii if you do not have 3.1

Argh... can I brickblock it?

I fucking hate that crappy USB connector, I´m buying a Lan adpter right now!

Also is there any other way to update without getting on-line?

I burn'd the DVD9 image at 4x(Sony AccuCORE's) w/ imgburn.

After the first match in SSE i get an error. Time to burn at 2.4x, If that doesn't fix the problem ill have to search the forums.

edit:Im using wiikey/NTSC-U with all the fixes

This guide still doesn't fix the white screen issue on D2CKey, Wiinja and WiiD D:

Now burn another disc with the DVD9 release but brick-block it first by using wii-update-remover 1.0 (since brick-blocker doesn't work on the DVD9 ISO). Again, you may need to also run regionfrii if you don't have automatic multiregion support enabled from your chip.

do i need to patch with wiiupdateremover before/after patching with wiifrii? or it changes nothing?

Few questions:

1 - I extracted the DVD9 image, and the file is 7.92GB. Do I need to do any file chopping before burning with ImgBurn? (thought it was suppose to be around 8.5GB?)

2 - Are there any known risks / side effects of doing the 15% update trick?
(I think there's a rumor of messed up graphics/dots on screen or all discs returning a DRE if it goes bad, so I want to double check to see if these are true or fake.)

3 - Is the update in the DVD5 version exactly the same as the DVD9 version?

thanks in advance

Hi all,

Just got SSB:B and i burnt 2 copies, 1 patched with brickblocker and 1 left alone. Turned on the region overider in the 1.3 setup and inserted the unpatched disc and let the wii update till 15% (till the bar reached 'w' under 'power') then unplugged it.

When i try to play the game, the wii menu screen loads the game, but then 2 seconds later, the error comes out "Error #001. unauthorized device has been detected". Futhermore, in spite of desperation, i let the update complete 100%, so now i have dupe channels, and i still have the same error: "Error #001. unauthorized device has been detected

I googled the problem and it seems that i need to update the wiikey firmware to 1.9g, the thing is... its already at 1.9g, ive been playing Super Mario Galaxy on and off for the past month or so.

Anyways, any help would be appreciated immensely, thank you.

Specs:
Wii: 3.1E
Wiikey: 1.9g

EDIT: would i have the same error with the DVD9 copy as well? im in the process of downloading it now, ill keep it updated!
