suprised no one has posted this yet but Eke-Eke has put up an update to his Gensplus GX emulator, most interesting is that he has added Master System compatibility to it making SMSPlus useless

* added support for Master System compatibility mode (Z80 ports access mode), incl. Mode 5 rendering.
* added Mode 4 rendering for both Genesis & Master System modes.
* added alternate BG planes rendering functions (should be faster on PPC architectures).

[Core/IO]

* added support for Master System compatibility mode (Z80 ports access mode).
* added Master System peripherals emulation (Control Pad, Paddle, Sports Pad & Light Phaser).
* added XE-1AP (analog controller) emulation.
* added Activator emulation.

[Core/Extra]
---------------
* added support for all known Master System cartridge mappers.
* added copy-protection hardware emulation for a few MD unlicensed games: fixes 777 Casino (crash when talking to bunny girls).
(NB: most of those unlicensed games seem to have been already patched by ROM dumpers, main purpose is documenting them)
* added support for Top Shooter arcade board controller. (A=Shoot, B=Bet, C/RIGHT=Coins, START=Start, hold UP on startup to enter service mode)
* improved King of Fighters 98 mapper emulation (registers address decoding is now 100% accurate)
* fixed Game Genie when several codes affect same ROM address.
* fixed EEPROM types for Brian Lara Cricket & NBA Jam TE (verified on real cartridges)

[Core/General]

* added Master System compatibility mode emulation (automatically enabled when loading ROM file with .sms extension).
* improved savestate stability & compatibility (support for old 1.4.x savestates is preserved)
* various code cleanup & comments.

[Gamecube/Wii]

* fixed cheat codes handling when several codes affect same ROM address.
* improved input controller detection on menu exit.
* improved key remapping dialog box to match emulated device
* changed Menu key for Gamecube controller to allow MODE button mapping
* fixed DVD not being unmounted on swap (memory leak)

[Wii only]
---------------
* added USB mouse support for Sega Mouse emulation
* compiled with latest libogc: improves USB compatibility & fixes stability issues with Wiimotes.

but this release seems to be buggy :[ got a bunch of crashes when browsing through the gamelist and while trying the snapshot function in master system games

It's not buggy, it's the good old hbc bug :-/
Check your wifi connection or trash this damn ios_reload string

It's not buggy, it's the good old hbc bug :-/
Check your wifi connection or trash this damn ios_reload string


i also thought of that first, but never had problems with the 1.4.1 release of genplus

but thx, ill try it out now :]

after a good play about with it the emu seems to be the most stable i have seen it, although trying sonic 1 ms on it did produce some slowdown when things got busy, but its been so long since i saw sonic 1 running on a master system i forget if the game originally had this much slow down in it or if the emu needs a good polish. Still i do wonder could the game gear crop up in the emu at some point

oh and if you think this is fake i could think of an emu or 2 which would have caught more peoples eye like say a wii64 update...

Not quite, for what about Game Gear support?

good point, but if he has built master system emulation into genesis gx my guess is game gear emulation will probably be brought into it. i would personally prefer to see the mega cd get added to genesis gx but im greatful for what we get given

well i've tested, GAW, all 3 WB, MMCOI all work (after a few tweaks with controller settings) and look fantastic on this way better than SMSPlus ever could hope for.

There are only a few games requiring this and honestly it's not such a "pain" unless you are constantly switching between games and "play" them only a few minutes. But I guess a way to save the settings for each game would not hurt, it must not be very complicate to do or automatic detection like with lightgun games for example.

which ".dol" I have to use with the HB channel? the one that comes in the apps folder right?
what about these two: genplus_cube.dol genplus_wii.dol ???
