So I thought that I understood how to play Pokemon however I've never really though about the logistics of it. For now I'm using PokeGen for manipulate Gen V Pokemon and PokeSav for everything else.

So I know each Pokemon has its own unique PID depending on its species, nature, ability, & gender. However I don't really understand EV/IV as well as what they have to do with PID generation. Also, in PokeGen there is an option with a drop down menu with methods such A-B-C-D or A-B-C-F. What does these mean? I assume they pertain to a specific set of Pokemon but PokeGen only supplies info for 4 Methods. Is that all we know or is there more to it?

Also what are Extra Bytes?

I am not too sure what your question is but I do think you are asking a more detailed explanation of EV/IV.
Every Pokemon is allowed to have a maximum of 512 EV's where each stat is allowed to have a maximum of 255 but it's better to only use 252 since you'll be sparing 6 EV's to put in any other giving stat you'll want.

IV's is a number generated in a stat to determine it's maximum amount it's going to reach. So let's say You have 31 IV's in Attack where your Pokemon's Nature is say... Adamant, you'll be able to get the max amount of attack stat in the beneficiary section of the attack.

PID Generation is mostly used for Pokemon's that you can only get in random event's or ones you can only get once(Legendaries) to make the legit. Since Legendaries or Pokemon's that you get in random event's are designed to get only certain Natures or IV's, you'll need to use PID to find a legit counterpart of the Poke.

Hope it helps.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
