I have the newest Geexbox release (alpha3?) on my SD and when I try to boot it on the HBC, a black screen popes up. I tried to format my old SD card and still no go. This also happened on the alpha2 release. I used an new Sandisk 2GB SD card also with no luck.

i had that exact same problem, i had to power off, power on and try again, works now, sometimes when all that data scrolls down the screen, it just stop says successful or something then goes black, then you have to power off and on for it to work again, only happened once for me the first time i used the app

Did you put the GEEXBOX folder into the root of the SD card?
No, I did not. But if you did, how would the HBC read the data. Do you mean put the movies in a folder called GeeXbox and also in apps?
