I am also getting an error message when I go to launch the channel that says it can't be used... but apparently if I use "free the wad" to install it, it will work?

Also I should mention I'm already at 3.3U... I wonder if that is part of the problem?

You can use another packer tool.

Extract wwpacker to a folder and put a common-key.bin into it.
Drag & drop wad file to _wwunpacker.bat
And then drag & drop the extracted wad folder to _wwpacker-ios35.bat
You would get a new wad file. Rename it and it would work under ios35 (firmware 3.1) and got region free already.

FFCC works too even though your wii is 3.1.

Altho this GeckoOS is great it's not without it's problems, for instance any game that uses the wii's internal clock is screwed. So is there any chance a 'freeloader' channel could be made ? because it works without hitches, until the GeckoOS is perfeted.

I wasn't aware that it reseted your internal clock whenever you used it. Now all my timestamps notices for Brawl are all stuffed up.

I didn't encounter Mew in 01/01/2000!

So, a little Update!

Jan777 gave me a newer UNOFFICAL version of the Channel and I changed the channel with the new one!

You only have to install the channel, because the older Channel (GeckoOs1.06d) will be overwritten!

to users: keep in mind that this isnt really official and therefore doesnt really have much support yet
USA to PAL doesnt work yet
