this has probably been said before but:
if we allow copyright-breaking content on the forums, we'll be requested to close and legal action will be taken by various companies.
simple as that...

No offense, but then why do you have so muc on flashcards here. On Homebrew, ROM stuff, and all of that stuff. If you guys are really concerned about that, you wouldn't have anything flashcard/ty and stuff...

Only person who seems overly concerned here is you, OP and a couple of other muppets. If it offends you so much go away.

Homebrew itself isn't exactly illegal and neither are flashcards, same for backup loaders as people are allowed to legally back up what they own. The only thing to do with ROMS/ISOs here is a release list which last time i checked is just a list, theres no links or anything else.

Who said I'm concerned? And yes, flashcards are technically illegal,or at least for Nintendo, as they no longer allow backups. If you want proof, I'll upload it, but this is taken directly from a DS games instruction booklet:

QUOTE
Important Legal Information

This Nintendo game is not designed for use with any unauthorized device. Use of any such product will invalidate your Nintendo prduct warranty. Copying of any Nintendo game is illegal and is strictly prohibited by domestion and international itntellectual propert laws. "Back-up" or "Archival" copies are not authorized and are not necessary to protect your software. Violators will be prosecuted.

Again, I'm not concerned, but just throwing that and this out there...

Hey, i have nothing against pirates, my protest is against stupid rules which denies evident facts, everyone out there knows gbatemp is a pirate forum, however the staff keep denying this and as result any talk including the word is supressed.

Now, to the argument the restriction existing due to discretion, i agree, but at least mods should give a warning first, instead of directly closing the thread when the conversation goes “off topic”. Sometimes it feels like moderation is too strict with something that's clearly visible.

Even though this thread is closed, I would like to post a final note.

We have to make our own judgements for when a thread should be closed, and in the case of the "Pirate Channel thread that I closed earlier, it was a clear cut decision.

A project to let people download pirate material? seriously?

You also linked to a website which I believe directly hosts Wiiware, Virtual Console and other illegal wads. You're lucky your warning level wasn't increased.

We can't notice every single misdemeanor on the forum, and that's why we have the reporting system.
If anyone finds any questionable posts, we would appreciate if you would report them for us to check.
We don't ignore any of them!

As others have said, I don't see any contradictions.
