Thanks, Tyrian! GBATemp's Resident Wimp is sure you'll get there soon enough.
Anyway, back on topic.
I think the easiest way to do it (feel free to disagree) would be to have the mods and admins come up with a few nominations, probably through PMs unless there is a hidden Mod board here. Decide amongst the mods and admins on two choices, and then approach those two. Keep it private, however. This will prevent any "He said she said" or "so and so would be better" topics starting up that wouldn't help anyone. Then, after the meeting, release the notes for all to see and let everyone know that they were, indeed, represented. I'm not totally partial to the secrecy part, but I think it's probably the least controversial way of doing it. Everyone here has friends with other people, and those people are going to think their friends would do a better job over someone else's friends. This prevents all of that, as we all trust the admins and mods to be able to make an unbiased decision based off of knowledge, forethought, etc. You already have a good idea, from earlier topics, of what the people are looking for and desire, and the overall goal is to find a good compromise or decision that suits the needs of the people with the needs of the board. It ain't easy, and I don't envy ANY of you your position right now, but it can be done.
Now. The other alternative is to release the name of the two people on the board and make it clear that the decision is final. They could then open a topic and have various members state their concerns of what they would and wouldn't like to see changed. This does risk flaming or "He said she said" bouts, but it would allow for people to feel like they have a little more say in the matter. Of course, the final call would be up to the representatives and their decision would be final, but the people would have been able to speak in some way through those representatives. Basically like an electoral college, if you're familiar with that American term. Basically, it's where chosen representatives vote based off of the consensus of the individual state, if that makes any sense.
OK, this is a long, Tempest-esque post, so I'll wrap it up. These are just my thoughts, so feel free to modify, change, or delete as desired. I just want to make sure that everyone is onboard, represented, and ultimately as satisfied as possible with the final changes that are decided on. Night all.
