hey, lets share little known gbatemp secrets?

you can make a link for like a post, it will show a prompt page asking if the person wants to like it, therefore you can't directly trick others into like something (but they will see the page asking if they want to like it, and then they go "why not" and leave a like on it)
the easiest way to do this, is copy another like link, then switch the post code number, you can find the post code number in the right bottom part of a post, in the grey number that says permalink

example:this post permalink is (the first post doesn't show the propertly permalink, but i used the quote button for this effect)
but you just grab the number from #post-5485041
and then change it:
https://gbatemp.net/posts/5485041/like

if you get a name change (good luck with that) your profile will have a new tab showing your names history

example: https://gbatemp.net/members/foxi4.203855/

you can use the "at" (the email sign) to tag a user, gbatemp monkeys* will convert that text into bbcode code. you can then edit out the name of it and it will have an interesting effect

for example the most awesome dude on gbatemp,
notice the link on browser status bar?

you can use ctrl+B for make BOLD text, ctrl+u for Underlined, and ctrl+I for Italics

you can allow people to edit your first post (for example let someone update your old tutorial) on the top/right side of the thread there is a button "manage access list"

one secret that many members are not aware, in the bottom of gbatemp (left side) there is a button called "tempstyle" in which you can use other gbatemp theme.
this option is one reason many moderators bitch complain about the use of some font colours. because members with the other theme can't see what you wrote

i would love to post more stuff, people, contribute?

*gbatemps monkeys, is actually gbatemp collaborating with NSA, if someone tags you, gbatemp asks nsa info about that person nsa sends profile to gbatemp and then it can propertly show your profile

found a "secret"

i created a post on general gaming area, on top right corner there is a button "manage access list" with this you can allow people to edit your first thread
its very great to allow your friends to help you making a tutorial. or if you going to leave gbatemp, you can leave someone "in charge" to update the thread.

sadly there is not a black list, which you can add moderators and admins to the list and they will have no power on that thread.

bonus super secret (after all, i posted this on EOF): after reporting many posts, you will realize moderators are actually your servants and you are the chairman. (or boss)
the report button is just a communication channel to yell with your employees for not doing their job.
you can put a big fluffy cat on your lap for maximum enjoyment. use the report and watch that thread being effective closed like it never was.

I like this. I've reported several threads and they got taken down but I didn't watch the thread so I don't know how it feels. Do you know how it feels Supreme Majestic Leader?
I guess I'd better watch this thread then :tpi:
