I feel like posting here after reading your really honest comments on some people here.
I've been here on GBAtemp for a loooong while (since 03), and I've seen people come and go. I still see Costello post once in a while, but I rarely see Shaunj66, or the greatly missed Thug4L1f3. Ace Gunman's been here for a while, and he's cool.... and lot of new people have been getting their post count up lately. Bunch of cool people, bunch of jackasses.
We don't all post everyday either. I've got little over 400 posts, but probably all of them are helpful comments, constructive opinions, or inquiries about, well, pretty much anything. I like GBAtemp for its crowd...people are (usually) nice and have a skillset that a single person simply cannot possess.
I love GBAtemp.
Aaaanyways, on the topic of Weeaboos! I tend to dislike them, but they tend to dislike me a little more. You see, I live a dream most of them would love to live. I'm a gamer (a pure gamer.), in fact, I decided to learn Japanese simply to be able to play more games. Spent most of my High School years doing so. Couple of years later, partying with some pals (after breaking up with an ex-girlfriend), meet a really cute Japanese girl, and we hit it off. Today we're married (happily at that), I speak really great Japanese, play a bunch of foreign games, and yet I really tend to avoid anime / manga. My wife's got us hooked on some Japanese TV shows, but I always forget the actors names (heck, even the character's names sometimes)...
I agree that a lot of people jump on the "HEY IMMA LEARN JAPANESE MAYBI TRANSLAT POKEMON OR SUMTHIN" boat without thinking that it could be one of the longest and harshest things they might learn. But then again, a lot of these people are young. We're not all married adults. Some of these guys are 11-15, and if they think they can learn something new, we can try to help them. 99% of them might call it quits to pick up skateboarding or something, but that 1% is going to be glad you helped em out.
For every 7000 retards, you'll get one or two people you might remember the name/avatar/signature of and think of that person as someone makin' a difference on GBAtemp.
From now on, sir, I consider you one of those people.
