Hi all.

I installed GBARunner3 on my DSi with the most recent version of TWiLight Menu++ and Unlaunch, using the download linked above by RocketRobz as well as the config files. Also put the bios in the right place.

I tested out Advance Wars 2 and there are a ton of graphical glitches, way more than the compatibility spreadsheet indicates, which makes me think I did something wrong. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks. And one last question, is this still in development? If so, where can I track the progress? I don't see any activity on GitHub
The developer is taking a break.

Are you sure the ROM isn't corrupted?

Anyone know if the NES classics are working yet on GBRunner? Cheers

Gericom once made an experimental build to make these games work, but it needed a lot of changes so only the NES/Famicom games worked and nothing else. The idea has been abandoned and there aren't plans to implement it fully since we already have NesDS to play such titles in better ways,

Hey ! I know likely no one will see this but is it normal for Sonic Advance 1 to have constant framedrops? Or the other 2 Advance games having flickering?

The only problem I have found on Sonic Advance 2 are when sounds overlap, some of them cut others, but iirc that also happened on original hardware and software. No framedrops at all, no flickering in the slightest.

How did you get it to boot at all?

I also have a softmodded DSi with Unlaunch and Twilight Menu.
But it never gets past the Gbarunner3 logo and either soft locks or hard locks, depending on if launched in DS or DSi mode.

I followed this guide, but it seems it's only for flashcards.

With the newest GBARunner3 there are still graphical glithces when playing Sonic Advance 3 on DS with a flashcard?
Thank you!

Make sure you have a valid bios and configuration folder. You can dump your gba bios yourself and get the configuration folder from GitHub/discord. The guide site you referenced contains a tutorial for installing gbar3 on flashcards, it's actually pretty similar. It's just that you need to copy the gbarunner3.nds file to the _nds/twilightmenu/emulators folder
(correct me if I'm wrong), then create a _gba folder containing the game configuration folder, bios, configuration files (in .json format), and borders. But the most important thing is the bios, some cases when people are stuck on the gbar3 splash screen it's because they don't use the bios/their bios doesn't match. Do not use open source bios, since gbarunner3 does not support them.

The same behaviour can be seen with latest available build on DS and DSi.
So, you're not the only one.

Check the compatibility list here

Looks like Sonic advance 1 & 2 work fine even in NTR mode. Probably just need additional JIT patch for performance improvement. A user on discord said he finished Sonic Advance 2 with gbarunner3 without any performance issues, just some crackling in his left speaker.

In Github included JIT patches doesn't fix the issue. Are there any other patches that need to be added?

Someone posted this config

{
"runSettings": {
"enableWramICache": true,
"enableEwramDCache": true,
"skipBiosIntro": false
},
"displaySettings": {
"gbaScreen": "bottom",
"gbaColorCorrection": "Agb001",
"gbaScreenBrightness": 16,
"enableCenterAndMask": true,
"centerOffsetX": 8,
"centerOffsetY": 16,
"maskWidth": 240,
"maskHeight": 160,
"borderImage": "default"
}
}

I want to fit as much of the GBA screen as possible on the Nintendo DS screen while keeping the aspect ratio

I know the DS resolution is 256x192

If I want to use 256 for maskWidth so I would need 170 for maskHeight right?

But does anyone know what these other values should be?

"centerOffsetX": 8,
"centerOffsetY": 16,
