Hey! New around here,

I've been refurbishing and modding this original GBA I got from Japan on ebay. I Cleaned it, put a backlit screen on, fixed the power switch which wouldn't work originally. It was playing all games well until recently. I was playing Zelda The Minish Cap, and it started showing wonky stuff on the save/load game interface, wouldn't let me load. But the same cartridge worked well on a different unit. Then I took it apart and tried cleaning it a bit more with alcohol, and checked most capacitors for shorts. Found nothing. When I put it back together, GBA games show glitchy from the start or don't play at all. The glitching varies a little too over time. At first Zelda wouldn't start at all, after a couple of hours it would show the splash screen as seen in the video. I was able to play original Gameboy games fine though.

I've put a good amount of time on this thing, has anybody seen this problem before? Any pointers to what it could be or what else to try?

Thanks in advance!
