GBA SP Arcade Tabletop

I don't think ANYBODY could be comfortable playing that getup. Except maybe that Ikaruga player that plays both ships by himself. Shouldn't arcade style controls have the analog stick near the buttons instead of 3 feet apart?

No way I'd spend $400 on that. I wouldn't even spend $40. That product is 110% failure.

Honestly, this just seems like a waste. It's not like the SP has any killer fighting games anyway. Makes this with a 3DS and I'll be interested.

that's fugly as shit tiny little screen and huge buttons what the fuck were they smoking?!

It seems like a neat project but kinda silly. A small GBA screen is really a killer (if he somehow had video out then it'd be cool) and the controls are pretty worthless for a GBA, seeing as most everything worked fine with standard GBA controls. It seems like something suited for fighting games but I can't really think of the GBA being a great system for fighters.

The price is also outrageous. Nowadays there's emulators that can probably be configured to support similar gamepads, plus play on a big screen.

Those of you criticizing the price are obviously not considering the time and materials that went into this project. It's clearly been made to a very high standard and I'm sure if you worked out an hourly rate for the time that went into it it would be a fairly poor wage - I think it's a neat object and if money were no object I'd be buying one. They've obviously built at least three, so presumably the ergonomics of the thing work OK too.

than you'd think with all the time and $ they put into it they could have invested in a bigger screen!

That is what I was going to say, what is the point in huge big controls and such a tiny screen? and the price they are asking is such a rip, I would just buy any console out there and use that for a emulator, that way you would get your money's worth.

That has got to be the dumbest thing that I(glitches)i I iiiiiiii...

Good news. I've just determined what that thing is.

Going to BOMB. What a stupid idea; without a bigger screen it's a waste of time and money...

I see can see a bit of wood working has been done too it it, and thats allways lovely...... but why on earth are the screws visible or atleast use some with nice heads

The idea is sound it's just marrying this to a gba that's the dumb idea. A bigger screen with a mame emulator would be cool.

That does not make the end result worth sh't. It just means that they spend a lot of time and effort on a product that is not worth the time and effort they spent on it.

They should have used a PSP instead, with all the emulators choices, it would have been a better fit.
Even better, I would have used a custom DSiXL with an added GBA port, surely the bigger screen would make for a more comfortable playing experience since the user can't stand that close to the display.
Or even better a small laptop with mouse and keyboard, running MAME, MagicEngine , Visual Boy advance and ZSnes !
That I would buy !
Wait ..........I already have that......the only thing, the laptop is not glued to the controller.....
And this is my controller of choice:
