ROM Hack gba pokemon

sorry guys i know this is nds discussions, and i cant find gba in here, but pokecomunity hasnt posted my thread yet and it has been 3 days, so im asking here, im starting to rom hack pokemon games and i want to text edit, im using advance text editor but everytime i edit the text in firered, when i play it, it gets corrupted, i tried using my back ups but same result, how do i edit the text without the game going bonkers?
