Hacking GBA - Golden Sun Cyclo Help

I have a 3in1, so I decided to play the original Golden Sun as I wait for a patch for the new one.

Only I have a problem with it as the save file keeps deleting itself. This is the 6th time I had to start back from the begginning. Saving seems to work randomly as I have been able to save, turn off, and turn on again to resume.

I got as far as 6 hours in the game until it deleted the save file yet again and I've had it.

What can I do to fix this problem? :\

what type of 3in1 do you have

gba sized
lite sized
or
3in1+

battery in the 3in1 maybe dying

Light sized. And its only a year old.

Did you write the Golden Sun ROM to the 3in1? (Try playing it without the Cyclo inserted, if it runs, then you did).
You have to save the game on the microSD card instead of the 3in1. One year is more than enough time for the battery to run out.
