I bought an Action Replay DS Media Edition as my first AR. Now don't tell me the R4/other flashcarts are better, I know.
In case you didn't know, the Media Edition is a 3-in-1 pack with ARDS, the gamesave manager and Games'n'Music. It can run .nds apps stored on a MicroSD card.

Now I was wondering if there is an app which could let me use the ARDS ME to cheat in GBA games. Is this possible? If the app requires more than one file, for example one .nds file for the app and a file for the codes, would it then be compatible with the MicroSD card? Maybe it could use codes stored on the AR?

Please help me. Thanks alot!

Uhh I'm not aware of anything like that. You really should get an Acekard2i though I got one after I got my media edition and it is 100x better.

Nice going.

But no, I think you'd have to get the GBA/DS AR Max. I had one, it has a slot for DS to backup DS saves, which is quite handy. Only cheats for GBA games though, not DS.

You want to be able to cheat on original GBA games with a DS slot device, specifically an "Action Replay DS Media Edition".

I would say you are out of luck seen as how GBA mode on the DS works, the best you can hope for is the save can be dumped
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=3345 is your best bet. I have not toyed with the save stuff all that much.

Also sram only, most games use EEPROM.
http://blog.davr.org/2007/03/31/eepinator/ I would not expect much and in fact I do not know if anyone has managed to do such a thing.

From here you have emulation (import battery file on the GBA) or save editors (there are a few on the GBA).

Some DLDI capable GBA carts can use http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/SendSave/i....html#cart_save or you can make custom hardware and use tools also on that link.

On a different note you can hardpatch cheats into roms with various tools, presently GBAATM represents the best method:

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
