its actually advance wars 2, sorry i must have forgot to put the 2 in but some of the codes i entered from website look like

i thought maybe it was because i was gettin an error but mario kart worked with the error and the ones i got from a website (they are codebreaker codes) dont work either so im kind of stumped. i still cant click on remove intros and i tried a non beta version of VBA...im about to try no$gba

i also just noticed that when i copy and paste codes in from the internet it will patch the game then say GBAATM has stopped working

No IRQs found!

So it wouldn't have even created a new game...

Many games use the same code that can be patched into automatically but a few use their own method and so I must take a look at the code and find a good method to patch them. I will add support for them as soon as I can.

mine was saying IRQ found but anyways ive gotten mine to work, it seems like since i got mario kart to work, i was messing with all the options trying to figure out why the others wouldnt work and didnt put in the menu text...idk if the trainer will only come up with menu text on or what but since ive been putting in menu text everything is working great

just one last question to clear something up, do you know if i put the patched games onto my cyclods with the EZ V 3 in 1 in the GBA slot if the patched games will work just like they do on VBA, like the trainer will appear and i can select which codes to turn on and off? id try it myself but im waiting for the cyclods to come in.

Advance Wars is the game I was testing when it didn't find an IRQ function.

Yes the patched games should work fine when transferred. I have tested this with GBA Exploader and it worked just as it should have.

I found a bug in the type 5 code conversion so that was fixed. However it still won't help the lockups you are having...

That is a bad code. It writes to the beginning of the RAM and causes a crash. It is probably due to an improperly formatted .CHT code. What is the original code so I can see if it is a problem with conversion or a problem with the code itself? The other codes work fine. I played a bit and all was well.

GBAATM was updated to support a new hooking method for Advance Wars (and possibly other games) and the type 5 code conversion was fixed as well.

just curious if anyone tried GBAATM with metroid fusion/zero mission.
I experience a lot of crackle sound during games. Cheat works just fine though.

Try changing the execution cycles to a higher value. Also make sure you are using the latest GBAATM (currently 1.9.8.2).

well I played around
execution cycles :
2 = semi perfect,
3 = almost perfect, * I use this one;
4= perfect sound, but if I get mobbed = dead

Thanks for replying. but that code thats converted to CB format screws the game up. It doesnt let me go to the debug menu. and when u enter another map it warps you to a diff spot. and when I put that code into my game with GBAATM it just freezes the game at a white screen as soon as it starts up. I figured out it did all that stuff by taking an unpatched game and just putting the code into VBA. Any way to fix the code? if not then thanks for trying atleast!


EDIT: I got it to startup with a diff rom. mine wouldnt work apperently. but even when it startsup the code wont work. and when i try turning on the trainer menu it freezes. I tried all 4 RAM locations or whatever. any advice? thanks again

Hi Cracker:
I really feel like an idiot, but I can't get the app to work with any game. I have tried in both a Windows Vista X64 SP1 pc and a WinXP SP3 one.
The emulators used to test the games were VBA 1.7.2 and 1.8.0 beta 3.
I'm using the latest version of GBATM, avalaible on the first post of this topic (1.9.8.2).

For example 0452 - Bomberman Max 2 - Blue Advance (U):
I tried with these CB codes from CodeTwink Network:

Enable Code (Must Be On)

Stop Time

I tried with just the trainer patch and nothing.
Then adding the enable disable one, pressing the keys does nothing.
If I enable the Trainer Menu, it appears after the BIOS screen. But its futile, because the cheats doesn't work.
Also I tried all the cycles and all the RAM offsets.
I have experience doing asm hacks for various systems, and this app can save me a lot of work. It also can help me with some cases where asm hacks are very difficult. But I can't make it work, no matter what I try.

Can you help me, please?. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure when it occurred but there was a problem with how the code checked for a VBlank that made the cheats never execute.

I fixed it (and another bug I found at the same time). Update at the top of the thread.

Also you don't need to use Enable/(M)aster/Must Be On codes if they aren't encrypted (first line starts with a 9).

Nothing happens.

Doom with the codes on this topic, allways freezes the game before it starts.

DBZ Legacy of Goku, nothing happens.

If you set the cycles to 1 the games freezes when you press start at the main menu.

The master code isn't needed since it just provides info to the AR cheat engine about how to hook into the code (which is a different method than what GBAATM uses). I'll check out the debug code when I get time.

I found out what the problem was and Hulk and Naruto work fine with those codes. Try DBZ too and it should work fine.

@metron:
