I usually load up the codes just to see if they can work. Sadly the recent codes like Golden Sun 1 and 2, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon they don't load when you try to upload the cht files.

There were a few problems with how the codes are formatted:
Chinese characters in the descriptions
Codes are not in ON= format but are identified with MAX= or (Chinese text)=
Text= lines

They are formatted very poorly.

I added some code to _try_ to correctly import poorly formatted .CHT codes and it does do a lot better. Not sure if there is much more that can be done since the codes really need manual editing and/or translation.

.CHT importation may be nice but there are plenty of codes available in CB/GSSP format for almost every game available. I urge people who are having problems with .CHT files to use CB/GSSP codes instead!

How about I'll help you. I will start going through the cht. files just to see which ones were poorly formatted. I can start from the beginning of cht. file 001 till cht. file 100

I won't patch them with the game, I'm just going to see which codes are poorly formatted.

Example:
cht. file 001 - appears on the cheat file
cht. file 002 - appears on the cheat file

I won't show the ones that are working, I will show you the ones that are poorly formatted.

So far out of 001-100 cht. files I have scanned, these are the ones that don't appear on the cheat file. Those crashing the GBAATM program due to it being poorly formatted.

0020 - Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters (JP).cht
0022 - J-League Pocket (JP).cht
*0023 - Momotarou Matsuri (JP).cht (This is just automatically closes the GBAATM, so I'm assuming this one doesn't work =/)
0032 - Castlevania - Circle of the Moon (EU).cht
33-34/37-39/41-42 = no cht. files
0045 - Castlevania - Circle of the Moon (US).cht
0047 - Tactics Ogre Gaiden - The Knight of Lodis (JP).cht
**0061 - Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 5 Expert 1 (JP).cht (Improper cheat file)
0067 - Minna no Shiiku Series 1 - Boku no Kabuto Mushi (JP).cht
0079 - Ougon no Taiyou - Hirakareshi Fuuin (JP).cht
0081 - Minna no Shiiku Series 2 - Boku no Kuwagata (JP).cht
0095 - Advance Wars (US).cht
**0100 - Medarot Navi - Kuwagata (JP).cht (Improper cheat file)

Hello Cracker! Just a little report!

The ingame enable/disable button combination does not seem to work with "Megaman Battle Network 2 (U)"
I was able to activate the cheats with the trainer menu, but I was not able to turn them off during gameplay, with use of the GBAATM ingame button function.

It does not matter if I have a trainer menu or if the cheats are enabled or not at the start.
The results are the same on a emulator as on hardware. I tried both Codebreaker and Gameshark Cheats.

I also had to metion that I tried to access the ingame trainer menu but the button combination for that did not worked either!

This Is the cheats I tried:

Gameshark:
Must Be On
90B81398A69E
213491B48E2B
59914D16908F

No Random Battles
9414BC5F100B

Codebreaker:
No Random Battles
82009082 0000

Thanks again for this excellent program and have a nice day!=)

0095 - Advance Wars (US).cht
**0100 - Medarot Navi - Kuwagata (JP).cht (Improper cheat file)

It actually was crashing mostly because of extremely long code lines.

Ex:
Code:
[Entire dice]
ON=3E564,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10

I made the line buffer much bigger so this won't be a problem anymore. I also added some more checks for bad .CHT codes -- the comma at the end of the line, etc.

I found the problem. It was the key interrupt 'register' being loaded along with the key value. It is now fixed for enable/disable, slomo, and joker codes.

True I guess you're right, however how do you open up the cht files that keep crashing?

Actually only 0079 was causing a crash after the last update. I found out what was causing it - the semicolons at the end of the line. Unless there are any more interestingly formatted .CHT codes there shouldn't be any more crashes.

Other updates:
Also updated the slomo function so each level should be more consistent.

The code for that would be:

D0000020 0002
82000499 0000

It would require you to hold down B the whole time until you wanted a random battle. If you don't want to battle for a while then perhaps it would be best to use the enable/disable option instead.

Thanks for your reply,Cracker.
I also want to use the enable/disable option. But I want to add another cheat that when I pressed select+lift,I can get much money.

The code for that would be:
D0000020 0024
82000250 967f
32000252 0098

If I use the enable/disable option,I can't cheat the money at any moment.
So,can I use the enable/disable option for the code:
82000499 0000

And don't use the enable/disable option for the money cheat code?
Can you help me?

Hi all, I have no idea how to use this, and I want to get the Mother 3 debug room on my EZ4.
I have 3 different codes for it.

Debug room (hold L while switching rooms)
0200B578:037D
0200B57C:0150
0200B57E:0090

Debug room for PAR (no idea what PAR means)
E8E71EAC 9593C0BD
21840DD2 35F05B65
E8E71EAC 9593C0BD
07274982 F87DE282
E8E71EAC 9593C0BD
2D1BF356 A8F5C573

Debug room (action replay code) (hold L when switching rooms)
CA1D8DB3 689FDAFA
9CC263F2 68DE0537
1DCAC2C5 4FCA9184

Can someone give me step by step instructions how to use GBAATM to add either of these codes on my EZ4? I'm not sure if the first two are GS codes or AR codes, but I entered in the 3rd one in VBA(emulator) using the cheat feature and it worked fine.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm new to this patching thing, and i think i'm being really really stupid, but i've got as far as putting the codes into the box, selected the game and where to save it and all that following the instructions, but then it says to press a button to patch the game, and i can't see it anywhere, please help, as i said, this is really stupid of me i'm sure

Nvm, it turns out its because i'm using my eee 901, the screen res is too small and the bottom part of the program is cut off, that may be something to look at, i don't know.

Hi all i'm really new to GBAATM and have some what of an understanding of how to work it. however ive attempted to patch 5 games and only 1 has worked. Mario kart super circuit did work while pokemon leafgreen and emerald, advance wars and golden sun did not. Everything is at the default setting and im loading cheats from files that i downloaded. the cheats im loading in are in .cht format and ive tried both the codebreaker setting and RAW setting and both did not work. ii have the setting set so the trainer menu is suppose to come up before the game and like the cheats, that doesnt come up. along with trying cheats ive downloaded i aslo tried inputting cheats manually and this as well didnt work. Ive tried everything, i made sure that the game and cheats were for the same region (US or EU...etc) and that i was putting in the right cheats for the right game. nothing is working and its driving me mad because i'm looking to patch all my games before my cyclods gets here. so could someone really help me out here, ive searched every forum and cant seem to find indepth instructions on how to do this, so could someone please help me out.

o and to test the games im using VBA and after i patch the games they run fine, like i never did nething. im also saving them to the same folder as the original game but changing the name slightly. also the set up for the codes im puttin in look like this

*name of cheat*

The first code is in RAW format and the other two are in Action Replay encrypted format. The AR codes can't be used but the RAW code can. Copy and paste the code into the text area for the cheat codes, select the original .gba (not patched by the EZ4 Client yet), select the .gba to save as. Click Patch Game!

I'll think about how I could restructure it w/o it looking bad. Maybe just to dynamically change the layout based on the display capabilities so that it won't affect the normal layout for those that can view it fine as it is...

What version of VBA are you using? Older (or altered) versions have an option to remove the intro from GBA games (Options -> Emulator -> Remove intros). If this is turned on it would interfere with the menu showing up and then the cheats couldn't be turned on of course. Try it on a different emulator (no$gba is a good one) and also try it without the trainer menu if it still runs 'normally'.

im using version 1.8.0 beta-3, it worked on one game so why wouldnt it work on the others? and also these patches will work on the cyclods with EZV 3 in 1...like the menu would appear right?

o and i just notced that the remove intros option is grayed out so i cant select it
