They are superior in some ways. They have disadvantages too:
-Take a long time to install
-Only one per title ID (for example, you can't have Alpha Sapphire and Star Sapphire installed at the same time)
-Saves are locked to the console, whereas card-2 .3DS files are portable.

- use one of the many tools and the installs dont take that long
- valid point, first one i have seen.
- not hard to use jk's save manager or one of the other save managers to move saves to a diff system

i have a cfw (luma 3ds) and a0lh on my 3ds but i am not that stuck in my world that i see cias the supperior thing. Because they arent both file formats have there ups and downs.

first, please speak proper english, it's really hard to catch the context you're trying to provide. Second, cias are way faster to use, as they are right on the home menu and although they take some time to install it's worth it to not get banned or having to have: 1. an emunand/9.2 sysnand 2.an awful rom selection screen

cias are superior in EACH and EVERY way, because they go on the home menu, they are easier to download(nintendo servers) and they don't require paid shits(cfws) to be launched, specially from an awful rom selection screen

I have 5 3DSes, With .3ds I don't have to install games or transfer savedata for every game on all my consoles . Sky3ds+ is the best, pick a 3DS, dump my own games and plug & play .

Unlike with cias you dont have to wait ~30 minutes just to find you dont like a game.

no it really doesn't matter slightily to me, I just want to see why people still use this, I consider it's an individual's choice, not my choice .

i really have both worlds, i have 3 gateway and 3 n3ds, i use cfw when something cfw does that gateway doesnt, in fact everything is easier with gateway than with cfw, cheats are awesome with gateway and the use of the 3ds files is great for testing the game before installing, if ppl didnt reversed enginereed the gateway launcher cfw wont be possible, so the ones that stole first was the cfw devs, but in the end is preference on what you want to use, if you dont like using gateway, well dont use it, but having both worlds is the best thing in the world
