I have an EUR 3DS too, but I don't care about the update nag on the dw file, because after Downgrading I will format sysnand to make it disappear and then make a backup of that NAND in case I need it later (:
If you do this does the eShop work? I might do this too. Edit: Of course it won't - it would ask to update. We would just have to use eShop in emunand right?

I'm really tempted in downgrading at the moment, but if GW are planning N3DS functionality, then I guess 4.5 wouldn't be needed since it won't be using the browser?

What exactly are the steps all of you have taken for full functionality (eShop) etc? Also wouldn't want certain games no booting (Unless they mean in sysNAND).

I think they mean games bought from eshop, I THINK

I'm going to follow this guide http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...d-emunand-and-eshop-working-correctly.378275/

i got it once when i first did it then i just clicked cancel and i havent seen it since lmao
From what I understand you can format your 4.5 sysnand if you get the nag permanently.

All in all Im beyond happy with GW right now! :D Never have I complained in the hype train for 2 full months and the wait was absolutely worth it! :grog:

Just downgraded right now, no nag update, but anyway I formatted the console. Now gonna backup my 4.5 sysnand just in case I need it. thanks GATEWAY and GBAtemp users!! :)

Linked my NNID to my sysnand on 9.2 then downgraded, formatted 4.5 sysnand, and I have all my games and everything on emunand. I can access the eshop BTW ;)

If I understand the steps:

You need to restore your backup NAND (back to 9.x on SysNAND). This Step is needed to have a SysNAND compatible with NNID setup! (4.x doesn't have NNID)
Format SysNAND
Link NNID
Downgrade again

So what the purpose of the the format SysNAND step?
If you restore your SysNAND to 9.x it's because your sysNAND is already unlinked, so don't you just need to link it again without formating?

You probably don't need to format the SysNAND again and could simply link the NNID again to the restored SysNAND. Personally, my restored SysNAND and updated EmuNAND dashboards looked exactly the same when booting up. So by doing a system format to the SysNAND, I could tell the difference between my SysNAND and EmuNAND before I did the downgrade. Plus I thought maybe the 3DS would have an 'easier' time downgrading if it didn't have all my eshop content on the dashboard to deal with.

So it's probably unnecessary but helped me from making any mistakes. Plus I had been drinking last night :grog:

So let me see if I am understanding this correctly. After I downgrade I can then install CFW then I can install retail 3ds roms with CIA installer using a normal flashcart? No GW card needed at all. Am I understanding this right?

Downgrade to 4.5, install CFW, and then install the .CIA which makes all blocked cards compatible again. Look for it in the forum

I was the one that tested that this cia does not work with AK2i initially. it requires <4.3.

is the only way to downgrade a 4.5 USA console to 4.2 by using a cart to update to anything <9.2?
