If games weren't that expensive, flashcarts won't exist.

A brand new game that costs 50$-60$ is a quarter of the avreage salary in my country.

Nothing else to add.

So far it is fake. They would at least release something for those whom don't update.

Also this is a cleaver scam. Plunk down $80 on preorder, multiply that by about 150,000 people, delay it by multiples of 2 weeks and apologize. Easy quick cool and free 1.2 million $ and no way to recoup the money after it gets to a point where paypal policy is out of bounds.

Think about it.

For multiple reasons, I have said before and will say again: I strongly advise everyone NOT to pre-order.

I don't believe the flashcart is a lie or a scam. But you never know until they release it.

Somehow, I have a feeling that there are a lot less $10-$20 games in Romania than in the U.S...

You can bet your ass on that one.

The thrist of ppl these days. Stop pre-ordering. The first of anything is never the best anyway. Always wait for version 2 or a different model. This applies to everything, for example I waited a year after the 3ds for the much bigger, better improved XL. Just chill, read a book or something.

another email they have sent me and they told me that they will update their site and they try to make the card work with the latest firmware.

Everyone needs to chill...its not that serious...let people do what they want...

The first solutions for NDS sucked. I mean they worked but weren't even finished for proper fit.

I would have to say that once someone clones said $80 cart it is going to cost probably 5 bucks because everyone knows what they heard that it does which isn't much. It runs the games yes but it sounds like it doesn't have much hardware at all.

But then again I do remember the supporters of the CycloDS and CycloDSi which literally were $5 flash carts upped in price "just because" they could do that. In fact, last time I compared a CycloDS it had exactly identical components inside it as a $18 M3 Real DS. People were sooooo into the CycloDS series carts and soooooo swore that it was sooooooo superior even though all they were doing was wasting money on a dressed up M3 clone whilst anyone with a brain could buy a cart for less than half the price that would essentially do the same thing.

I am chill and I'm not complaining even though it may look it to noobs and nitwits. :P I am just stating what I think. I'm not really jumping at pirating more games, could care less.

It could be worse. The minium wage in Sierra Leone is $5.75 a month.

Considering Gateway isn't selling the carts directly, they make 0$ on preorders. If it never comes out, the only people that would make the money are the shops that took your money and ran.

Gateway isn't taking preorders, or any money.

There was a time when cyclods updates were same day/overnight from releases, when other carts took days.

Back in the days of the cyclo there wasn`t a firmware like wood for free. The Cyclo cards had real-time-save, fast firmware updates etc.. It is not stupid to pay more for a better supported card. The cyclo-team put more work in updates etc and so they could get more and -of course- wanted more money for the card. Everybody had the choice if this work is worth the money or not.

And last I checked the M3 Real didn't do RTS, etc. So no it did not do the exact same.

Just because it wasn't implemented in software code doesn't mean that it didn't have the same hardware inside. And actually their parent company came out with an R4 RTS (the white box one) a little bit later anyway. Point of the matter is, and you know this because you are a mod and have been here a while, that people know the Cyclo was overpriced due to the company not letting anyone price it wherever they pleased. Dealextreme sold them low at a point maybe $24 each and they refused to ship batches to dx for a while because of that.

Isn't it nice of them that they completely abandoned the CycloDS as well as the CycloDSi...

Even if the hardware was there, it did not do the same thing.

How many people do you see buying computers with no OS? They're not after just the hardware, they're after a completed, working package.

Come on. This happened after several years when there was already the 3ds and no big ds games had been published anymore.
I wished my R4 got the support like the cyclo. It was a pain in the ass with updates and for a long time the card was even useless for new games till the wood firmware.

Good news the team says production has started, but they have not fixed the fact that it doesn't work on (6.1.0-12)

Will update when distribution company, takes payment.
