Gaming gamestop stoping 3ds pre-orders?

With something that vague as he said, and with saying "...maybe even tomorrow", it sounds like he was just trying to get you to lock in a pre-order.

A false sense of urgency makes it easy to sell things.

Having checked Gamestop.com, it seems the store where I pre-ordered my 3DS won't be holding a midnight event, but will supposedly open at 9am. Gonna contact the store in the morning to confirm this (though I'm still hoping they'll participate in the midnight opening).

That list is pretty definite. IF the store you're hoping will open at midnight is inside a mall, then forget it. It costs too much for them to open. Otherwise, good luck. I'll be enjoying mine at 12:01AM (they cannot sell before this time at GameStop).

well i told them i was going to pre order at another gamestop and he warned me about them stopping the preorders. so im not sure if it was just for that store.

He might have been bullshitting, gamestop regional managers go nuts over pre-orders quotas; he might have just tricked you to get you just to make your pre-order at that store.

Heh, the gamestop I pre-ordered mine at won't open until noon Sunday, and I have that day off. Sleep in for me ^^

I am not getting my hopes up on any being available for a while. Everybody reserved it rather than wait for release day which sucks because they will be out of stock automatically after the first week. Complete bullshit plus its a little expensive. I would rather get a home console finally. Have too many portables. If I had the money though. This is where being broke ass cheap comes in and bites me in the rear.

Just fyi people, a Gamestop near me only has 20 pre-orders total for the 3DS (Black and Blue combined), and I live in a pretty large metroplex. Check around your gamestops, even ones that you think will have a ton of pre-orders.

That's what some people in my area thought when the wii came out. Some lady was practically threatening the staff because "Her kids had been waiting two weeks for it" and they sold out (around 14 left for people who didn't preorder and people waited in line for a couple hours just to get one of the 14).

they need to learn that these stores provide a service, it's not an entitlement.

edit: also, lol... two weeks. i've been waiting since last year when they rushed the announcement to beat japanese newspapers to the news
