With Germany instituting a ban on major event gatherings until August to protect its people from COVID-19, the future of the annual German gaming convention, Gamescom, was put into uncertainty. The staff behind Gamescom have just put out an official message, explaining that Gamescom 2020's regularly scheduled event has been canceled, with all ticket prices and costs to be refunded to those that pre-ordered. Much like many other events that have been affected this year, Gamescom will still be taking place, just through a digital medium instead. More information is promised at a later date, but it seems that Gamescom is still set to take place by the end of August 2020.

Glad we're still getting an event in some form. It wouldn't have been too shocking for them to just cancel it outright.
